I'm 67, and I used to get migraines - pre menopause. For about 30 years now I've gotten, maybe about 2x a month, these sharp, stabbing, instantaneous pains in the back of one of my ears - the ear varies. It happens about every few seconds to every few minutes. The only thing that stops them temporarily is either aspirin or ibuprofen ..... Tylenol does nothing.

I have found out they ARE Ice Pick Headaches - nothing systemically serious, just very painful and annoying and seem to come out of the blue. Often when I get them I'll take 2 Advil and lay down with that side of my head on an herbal heat pack. But, once the Advil runs out, it starts up again. Lasts for about 2-3 days.

abby
