I am somewhat beside myself because laser surgery was mentioned. She seems to be hiding her fears well, but did mention going blind, then nervously laughed on the phone. She mentioned that this can be caused by stress and her job has definitely provided lots of that! She also wondered if laser surgery hurt.</P> <P>My DFIL went blind in one eye as macular degeneration progressed. Several laser surgeries had been performed on his eye, until it was decided that no more surgery would be of help. BIL has a variation of macular degeneration.</P> <P>I am frankly scared and worried. My best consolation is that I have read on the boards that early detection and treatment are essential in order to prevent further eye damage.</P> <P>What can any of you tell me about this condition and your experience with it?</P> <P>Thank you so much for your help.
