At 78, we used all kinds of chemicals to clean house in the 50's and forward. I cut and trim my trees without a mask on. I use to mow the law without a mask and blow the leaves without a mass. All I see is grown men wearing mass to do yard work and it takes three to do the job I do alone at 78. Have we gotten so weak in this society?

I'm talking about toilet bowl cleaners as well as tub cleaners. We have two bathrooms and only one has a window. The directions on all cleaning products advise to only use with ventilation. A vent with a fan is not adequate enough certainly not like a window.

Yes, the tool that was used in the video didn't remove the mold on the caulking but he wasn't using a mold removing product so no surprise that it didn't work. I know because I have used these products before...but have to say they were very strong just like other cleaning sprays and it wasn't good to breathe it in. A spray designed to get rid of mold only needs rinsing. The tool he used was good for getting rid of soap scum.

OP, many years ago we used ammonia, bleach, Ajax to clean the bathroom. I was always concerned about the fumes and would put a fan in the bathroom to disperse the fumes. For many years now, we have been cleaning with vinegar and just using a little bleach in the toilet bowl.

I have a friend who died after fighting cancer for nine years. She was a cleaning nut, a real nut. Visit her house and all she would talk about was how she will get on her hands and knees tomorrow and use X Y and Z on her terrazzo floor. Then there were the bathrooms, a tiny water spot would unleash more chemicals. No gloves, no mask. I felt way back then she was damaging her system. I really felt that when a housecleaner at a motel showed me her peeling hands from not wearing gloves. If you are in good shape, pat yourself on the back and thank your lucky stars. Some of us prefer to take a few simple precautions.
