I want to purchase some resistance bands I can use while sitting down and standing, and that also work when I am in the pool. I am not in shape, so I don't want too much resistance. I don't want a big set. There are so many on the market that I don't know what to choose. If you have a brand, model and store where I can pick them up, Walmart, Target or other place, could you please help me out. Thanks.

Believe it or not--I use BUNGEE CORDS! They come in various lengths. I look for the ones w/the black hooks..they are strongest w.the most tension.

I hook my thumb, or finger, whichever works for you..then do a variety of exercises--such as holding it across my chest and pulling each end and holding for a few seconds. This works pec/bust muscles.

Or I use it for biceps curls..any way u can use a rubber type band!

I checked with Walmart...they carry SPRI. Nice brand...$12, soft handle & it'll last forever...though any elastic band will have a shortened life if used in a chlorinated pool. Here's a snapshot I saw on Walmart:
