Without full contraction of a muscle, there is no REAL muscle growth. The Bodyblade is ONLY a cardio exercise.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble.

Please would anyone care to define 'tone'. This is the biggest exercise buzz-word that means absolutely anything. Moving in any kind of way is a good thing...but this tool...like ALL the other gadgets is just that.

Walk more...eat less...and eat BETTER. It's easy. Without all the gadgets.

Does anyone use a Bodyblade? What kind of results have you seen? I saw a demo lastnight and thought it might help with my flabby upper arms.

Yep. Got the original one and the pair of the 2 smaller ones. Good for toning but that is the reason I bought them. One can get a full body workout with the one vertical blade exercise and if you can do it for over a minute I say a big congrats to you.

Use them often along with my Tony Little Body Shaper as both are very portable and can be used in about any position.

As for your triceps? The will definitely tone them and possibly increase the muscle size. If you are talking about loose skin it could help some depending on several factors. I took the chance on the original and it was money well spent for me.

Thanks, I'm going to order one. I've got those old lady "bye bye arms" and refuse to wear sleeveless or short sleeved tops. I'm telling you, if I get a good swing going, I could really rap someone in the face! LOL I've gotta do something to get rid of that.

I bet, once it's here, my DH and possibly my son will want to use it to, so it won't be a waste of money.

I got the Bodyblade way back when it first came to QVC. I don't know where it is now, but I found it too boring to stick with. I also felt a little silly wiggling this "stick". I was actually surprised to see that it is still being sold on the Q, so there must be something to it. But, if you just want to tone your upper arms, all you really need is an 8-12 lb. dumbbell (cheaper than a bodyblade) or just do tricep dips (free!) off of a stair, or standard push-ups. No gizmo required.

great thread ... thanks!

i was looking at this product myself, and so i am interested in these responses too. i am seriously thinking of ordering this blade, specifically because i am a member of the old lady upper arm club.

i, however, still will wear sleeveless tops. i wear either 3/4 or elbow sleeve or sleeveless. to me, i think that the little bitty sleeve or a cap sleeve looks AWFUL on me. my arms actually dont look that bad in the sleeveless though. i think that the sleeve that hits halfway between the elbow and the shoulder just cuts my arm in half and draws way too much attention to those upper arms. in sleeveless, the problem area just seems to vanish on me.

It is hard to do for long. I found I felt it more in my back though.

I am sure the position of your arm, and the position of the blade would make a difference in what it worked on? I am not sure.

Mine is "somewhere" in my house. Lost interest quickly.

I bought the Bodyblade for my son. He broke his elbow and required surgery. When he started PT, the physical therapist used the Bodyblade as part of his PT program. My son really benefitted from using it. I have to say that it is A LOT harder than it appears on TV during the demonstration! However, I'm starting to get the flabby arms so I'm going to have to ask his to pull it out so I can use it!!

Lisa

Former DH, now passed, had one. I have no idea what happened to it. Probably got tossed. It was very difficult for me to use, and I don't know where it went after he passed. I do know it was a lot cheaper then, though. Maybe more like $30.00 cheaper!!!!

I recommend trying the Reactor Aerobar Trainer from walmart.com. Does the same thing for lots less. I got one a few months ago and it's definitely helping. I'm still losing weight, so I still have some of the wiggling, but I can definitely see and feel an improvement in the muscle tone. If you try it and don't like it you have 90 days to return it, and it can be returned to the store.

I've had my bodyblade for well over 10 years as well as the cardio blades. I started using them on the recommendation of my chiropractor who had me using them as part of my therapy. They are the only workout product that I have used steadily. I used to workout with weights but developed nerve problems in my arms and can not lift more than 20 pounds per arm. The bodyblade gives me a much better workout without all the pain of weight training. For someone who doesn't workout it is difficult and you have to work up to doing it for longer periods. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's a portable whole body workout.
