Get one of those pitchers with a central tube. You put your fruit of choice in it and fill the pitcher with water. It infuses the water with the fruit. They show them on qvc.

Why not make your own? Way less expensive, you control what's in it, and easy to do. We have water filter pitchers that come with infusers where you simply put in chunks of fruit and voila' there you are! I also at times squeeze fresh limes in my water, add a little of Florida Naturals zero sugar Limeaide, and it tastes sorta like a virgin lime Margarita.

And if you add a bit of mineralized sea salt, you have now created hydration with electrolytes and essential minerals. Which is known to help with hydration better than water alone. Endless possibilities.

Citric acid is used in just about every commercially prepared electrolyte powder or drink as a preservative and tart flavor. Good luck finding one without it.

Here is a simple DIY electrolyte powder for adults:

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon potassium chloride

1/4 teaspoon magnesium malate (easier on the tummy than magnesium citrate)

Mix together, use 1 teaspoon powder in 2 to 4 cups water.

Optional: sweetner of choice, fruit powders, fresh fruit

Potassium chloride, the salt substitute at the grocery store, typically has a bitter taste so sweetners or fruit flavors are added to make it more palatable.

Of course, adding sugar or fruit to the drink adds carbs that will then elicit an insulin response. Probably OK for those that are naturally lean and not insulin-resistant; not so great for those that gain weight easily and are insulin-resistant. Everyone has to decide what is metabolically best for them.

I was cleaning out a cupboard and found an infusion pitcher. It was sitting on the counter just waiting! I will cut up my celery tomorrow!

I make ice tea------use decaf green/black tea bags and add a few celestrial seasonings fruit teabags. like raspberry or lemon zinger--all natural and tastes delicous. I drink water thru out the day anyway, but this ice tea is even better. Never sweeten it either. and usually don't use ice cubes, Keep that in the refer but prefer room temp water--easier to drink for me than ice cold stuff.
