topic Has Anyone Had a Crown Done? in Wellness

I've never had a crown done before and my new dentist is recommending that I have one done. I have several old big fillings and one of the filled teeth has cracked and needs a crown. He went over the procedure with me - 2 visits, temp. crown, new crown & cost. I'm kind of wimpy when it comes to this and I'm wondering how painful this is to have done. The dentist told me it wouldn't hurt any more than getting a filling but still I'm skeptical. I've also noticed that there are some other offices offering a new procedure that allows you to get a crown done all in one day - no 2nd visit to put crown on. Also eventhough I'm lucky and have insurance the total cost still seems excessive - 1 crown is $927.00. Does this sound right? Any answers would be helpful. I know I probably need to have it done but I'm still not sure. Thanks!!!
