If you had one with polyps removed, when do you need to have the next colonoscopy? Seems like they upped the time from 5 years to 3 years if you had the most common adenomatous polyp which is precancerous.

That one was clean, so I was told to come back in 7 years--which will be be this summer.

I had 1 a little over a year ago with 2 Polyps removed. They were benign. I go back in 5 years. I believe it depends on the type of Polyp that is removed. After the procedure, my doctor told me they looked like the type that were non-cancerous.

A while back they removed 4 from me. As I recall I had to wait for the pathology to come back before a recommendation was made. Can you ask your doctor? Then just follow the instructions.

Hope is all well with you.

When one has a colonoscopy after results of polyp removal and the MD calls you he should tell you right then when to repeat. There are many types of polyps. It depends on what exactly it was they removed.

I've had 3 years and now 5 years. I have mine next week. Last time no polyps, but Dr. still kept me at 5, not back to 10. Your doctor should decide.

Good luck. Sadly, Sometimes I don't think they keep good records. Two years ago, they said I was overdue. I said my five years is 2026. I tried to get an appt in December. No way I was taking a 2 pm appt. - the day after Christmas yet. I've waited 7 months to get an early morning appt. I scheduled this March colonoscopy last August. Crazy.
