Does anyone suffer from restless leg syndrome, and if so, exactly what does it feel like? I think I'm beginning to have this problem - I get "pulses" in my legs and have to move them to relieve the feeling. I'm wondering if I have low potassium or if perhaps it's from some medication I'm taking? Any help is appreciated!

I don't know but have heard many people placing a bar of ivory soap between the sheets & say it really works. It's worth a try if you are dealing with this. I'm sure you will get some more responses from people that actually have it.

Sounds like restless leg. You need to check with your dr to make sure that's what it is for sure.

You can try drinking tonic water which has a small amount of quinine in it. When I'm dehydrated or low in minerals, specifically magnesium and potassium I get restless leg. So, also try a mineral supplement at bedtime or low sugar gator aid.

I've had it for several years. Iron deficiency can be a culprit. My dr. Said the ins.companies want them to test for iron, before prescribing anything. It can be very annoying. Good luck!

My middle daughter has this. We'd be sitting in our car (three girls in the back seat) and she'd have to sit in the middle because she'd have to straighten out and bend her legs (she called it crack them). The Pediatrician told us what it was when she was young.

She also gets bad leg pain. We took her to Children's Hospital (you have no idea every time my girls got sick my late husband took them to Children's Hospital in DC and they always knew the answers). They diagnosed her and told us to try to watch the amount of gluten she ate.

Also, I know this is different, but all three of my girls (along with me) have dairy allergies. One thing that helps this daughter with her leg pain and the need to move and crack her legs is if she very drastically limits the amount of dairy she eats.

For instance, if she wants pizza, if she doesn't scrape off almost all of the cheese within 1 or 2 days (sometimes hours) she'll experience these same symptoms.

I don't know if any of this helps, I think it's trial and error.

Iron deficiency can, definitely cause it. But also take a look at any medications. I was on one for my appetite and it gave me insomnia and restless leg. When I stopped the next night no restless leg.

What does it feel like? My mother used to describe it as "jim-jams." I describe it is an deep ache, but not a pain, that is relieved by movement. It is not the same as a muscle ache that you would get from exercise nor a tingle like your legs going to sleep.

I don't take medication, but I always take Advil before a concert, flight, or long car trip as a preventative. And I take one Advil PM every night before bed.
