Fall Allergies

Between the falling lefts and the dryness in my apt my post nasal drip is really a pain. I use Flonase and Azeletine am and pm and I have been lving on Sudafed PE. We have been running a humidified 24/7 this is so annoying

@I am still oxox I feel your pain, unfortunately I seem to suffer all the time all seasons with allergies. I have tried about everything even allergy shots and nothing seems to work, I have asthma as well and I had horrible reactions to the allergy shots that I had to even stop those. I feel so bad for you but totally understand what you are going through.

I also suffer with allergies this time of year. I dose myself with OTC nose sprays and Sudafed as needed. Symptoms seem to come and go.

I notice my cuticles are very dry. I have forced air heat so this happens every heating season. Humidifier connected to the heating system but it doesn't do much IMO. I live with it as best I can.

I used to use a lot of the sinus and nasal products mentioned here but of late, I've found that using "Simply Saline" Spray morning and night DAILY helped to keep the allergy symptoms down to a level where I was satisfied with the results. It takes a little while using it for you to get the maximum benefit.

Once you get it 'under control' then you might be able to only use it once a day, like I do now.

It's moisturizing to your nasal passages and not drying, and completely safe to use anytime or all the time.

@ciao_bella. I, too, am a big fan of saline nasal spray. It's easy to become dependant on some of the other types of sprays.

@Kachina624 Exactly! Many times using one or more of the other types of nasal sprays, (many of which are steroid based like Flonase) other sinus pills, liquids etc, will cause a rebound effect and give you more congestion and irritation causing a cycle and dependency.

Saline sprays, on the other hand, are safe, can be used often without any harmful side effects or dependency.

I use a Navage saline sinus irrigation system especially when my sinuses are clogged. I also use Flonase on occasion. But if I have a sinus headache I use Alahist which is a prescription. It clears my sinuses and I don't have any side effects with it.

My allergies have increased with age. I take a daily non-drowsy med plus use nasal saline with aloe. It moisturizes my passages without causing issues and relieves the dryness which help cause sinus headaches. I use Flonase when it gets bad but don't like to use it every day.

You have my sympathy. I have a scratchy throat that is making me sneeze. If I eat crackers etc. I sneeze.

Lots of post nasal drip. I can't wait for a frost to get rid of the ragweed.
