I brush 2-3 times a day, floss, have used a water pick, and an electric toothbrush and yet I'm a super fast placque builder. I've also used different toothpastes and oral rinses. Any recommendations for a toothpaste or other product to help with this?

Years ago my hygienist recommended ACT Total and it helps tons to reduce plaque.

Wondering if you drink of coffee/ tea/ pop and that could create more plaque.

Also maybe you could try drinking about 16 oz of lemon water a day and then 16 oz of celery juice for a natural cleanser.

It may be a genetic issue.

I do the same as you. I use fluoride toothpaste 2x daily, antibacterial mouthwash 2x daily plus a once nightly fluoride final rinse before bedtime. Fluoride is key to help reduce bacterial regrowth (plaque). Look for stannous fluoride rather than sodium fluoride. Stannous kills bacteria better than sodium fluoride.

Rinse your mouth out with water after eating or drinking beverages, always.

What does your DDS suggest? My recommendation is to get teeth cleaned every 3-6 months vs. every year. It's genetics. We don't have control over this.

I have always heard Oral rinses are bad in that they eliminate the healthy, as well as the bad bacteria in the mouth offsetting the natural balance. Also, everything in the body is connected somehow. You could likely benefit from a gut reset with a good quality probiotic. You may have some kind of overgrowth in the mouth or stomach and probiotics will replenish and rebalance your system. It's worth a try, but it takes time and commitment, not a quick fix. I swear by them and use them regularly. Right now, you are simply treating a symptom and not the cause. For that, you need to think outside the box IMO.

I use a dental pick to scrape plaque from my teeth. I always get a buildup behind the lower front teeth.

My dentist and hygentist said it was okay. I was worried that I would damage my teeth, but they both said it was impossible.

I visit my dentist every six months, brush 2x a day with a sonic toothbrush, use floss have very little plaque that needs to be removed during visits.

I have all my natural teeth and haven't had a cavity in well over 25 years.

I need MRIs for problems I have related to MS. Every time I have one, the manager of the imaging center will say "Oh, it won't pull your implants out." No, but it loosens them because they are metal and the magnets pull the metal enough to break the screw or take it from the bone graft.

In the beginning I would have them replaced and after 3, we decided, No. I will just go with partials where I need them. No use in spending another quarter-million dollars on my mouth.

I had the same problem. I had to have my teeth cleaned more often than 1 time every 6 months. I had a dental hygenist recomend Xylie Mints. They have helped me so much!!! I use one tablet every night. It slowly dissolves in your mouth. I get them from Amazon. Even when if I get plaque, it comes off with a dental pick. I was never able to get it off before. I also drink a lot of water. Sometimes placque is caused by a dry mouth.

I use Earthpaste to keep my teeth clean. It has no fluoride, no glycerin. Glycerin leaves a film on the teeth which causes plaque buildup. It can inhibit the natural remineralization process.

I use Earthpaste charcoal every once in a while.

I use an electric toothbrush. I also use the interdental head to clean between each tooth.

I use Lumineux Clean & Fresh mouthwash.

I also use a scaler like @Carmie posted above.

My teeth feel as clean as they do when I have them cleaned at the dentist.

I have the same issue and had deep cleaning and now have to go 4x's a year for cleanings. My hygenist says some people just produce more and also medications can be a culprit.

I don't have any recommendations as I have the same issue. I brush and floss a lot. I can't use mouthwash which has alcohol due to dry mouth and other dental issues so don't know if a regular mouthwash with alcohol would help this or not. I asked my dental office about the plaque issue and they said some people just produce more than others.

I bought myself some plaque remover tools to use on my teeth in between cleanings. I am VERY careful using them as they are extremely sharp. I'm surprised at how much plaque I'm able to remove on my own. I do it every few days. It certainly keeps the yuckiness at bay!
