CHOCO NUVO QUESTION

Okay, I admit it ... I'm late to the Choconuvo party.

I have now been prescribed two cholesterol drugs which didn't agree with me, at all.

I've taken Cholestacare in the past, but just checked the Choconuvo options on HSN. There are no sale prices and shipping is charged. The price looks like about a dollar for each piece, so I assume the big sale is over.

Might there be another promotion before they stop for the warmer months?

Any recommendations? TIA

@Tinkrbl44 Is this some kind of supplement? Have you talked to your provider about an alternate to what doesn't agree with you? Wouldn't that make more sense than buying something from a shopping channel? Just asking.

Hi. Yes, I do believe there will be a sale sometime soon since he stops shipping in April or sometime close to that. I doubt the price will be as good as his TS price but it might be close. I bought 3 of the 360 size when it was a TS. I don't ever want to be without it.

Edited: just checked my order status. I purchased a 180 size on Feb. 29, 2024 for $87.94. That was not a TS day.

There is always a sale right around April. If you can hang for it, do so. He doesn't ship again until October so be prepared to stock for that length of time if you want to.

I don't know what you're looking to know. CN won't do anything for your cholesterol.

You can easily buy clean dark chocolate. Plant sterols can be found naturally in foods.

I get mine from whole grains and fruit. Plant sterols are certainly good for you, no factual evidence they or dark chocolate will reduce cholesterol. Just another gimmick. Plenty of

so called " plant sterol" cholesterol lowering products all over the internet.

Hi!

I bought 360 pieces for $150 last April. The 91% cacao is tasty and not bitter, but then again, I've yet to find good chocolate that I don't like!!

He mentioned that he does specials in April and October so the chocolate doesn't melt in shipping.

I order through his Pro caps website--free shipping and they added a little freebie sample of soap to try as well.

@santorini disagree all you want. No factual basis that dark chocolate or plant sterols or eating an apple a day will lower cholesterol. Wrongly accuse someone? Rather dramatic. 😄

CN is an Andrew Lessman product.

I already spoke to my Dr's office this morning and was told that most of the drugs that would help me have side-effects of muscle and joint pain.

Since I have both Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis, I'm not going to take something that makes me feel worse.

The suggestion was made to even discuss with my Pharmacist for alternatives and have HIM call their office!

Huh? Really?

So .... I'm polling the knowledgeable people here, as well as additional researching.

It's always something, isn't it?

@Tinkrbl44 I have been using ChocoNuvo for several years now. Prior to using it, I was taking a stain for my cholesterol problems.

I started using CN to see if there was any difference in my levels and I did that right after having my blood work done annually, which showed my levels high.

I told my doctor what I was doing and showed him the packaging and that it had CholestaCare in it, Andrew's supplement for help with cholesterol. When I returned six months later, taking another blood test specifically to see if the product made a difference, my doctor went over my lab work, shook his head, and said: "Keep doing what you are doing, because your levels have gone down significantly."

I don't recall what the number difference was, as it was years ago, but I have not been on statins since that time and my annual lab results still show my cholesterol is under control.

Andrew recommends 1-2 after a meal, explaining that 2 would be better if you are having a particularly fatty/sugary item, like a hamburger. I just like the product, so I have 2 after lunch and 2 after dinner no matter what I eat. Sometimes another one as a treat as I really like chocolate.

When I asked if there would be any harm in having more, his staff said Andrew recommends up to 5 a day, as any additional over 5 does does not make the product any more effective than just 5 would do. BUT......at 25 calories/piece, your caloric intake could affect your weight.

I have switched from the 74% to the 91%, but both are very good. Even the 66% tastes good. Very Creamy.

When he has a sale, and he does between October and April, usually more than once, the price can be as low as 25 cents/ea, maybe lower. They are worth every penny! April will be the last time he sells them until October again, because he does not ship the chocolate during the summer months. He tried it once but too many were returned due to melting during the shipping timeline.

Thank you for that background.

I was willing to take a statin for 6 months, and what I was given was the Lipitor generic. Unaware of the side effects, I nearly fell down in a store and that was the end of that.

I have some Cholestacare left, so I'm taking those, but am still researching, and watching for the C N sale.

If Cholestacare stopped working for you then for sure CN wont get the job done. I used plant sterols for 20 years and my chol was under control, suddenly last year it spiked and I had to go on meds. I take a non statin drug called Zetia, gets the job done with no side effects but its lowering potency is a bit less than statins.

It's not a gimmick. I have been using Andrew's ChocoNuvo plus his fiber for several years.

I was eating one piece of the ChocoNuvo without the fiber. My numbers went down. When I added another piece plus his fiber it when down more.

My doctor said after I had my labs she didn't know what I was doing but to keep doing it.

I agree it doesn't work for everyone.

In Oct the TS price has been $150 for the large 360 ct.

The price is higher in April when he offers it. Not sure what that is. One year it was the same price as the TS.

I always buy at least 2 360 ct bags when it's the TS to last until the next TS.

@Tinkrbl44 if you take CoQ10 while on statins, it can mitigate the side effects. I'm surprised your doctor didn't mention this. I take 10mg of Lipitor daily along with 100mg of CoQ10 and have no issues. Consider asking your doctor about this.

It's a little confusing, but with my blood tests a year ago, the numbers had jumped a bit, so I started taking Cholestacare.

Six months ago, the numbers were lower, but not by much, so I assumed it hadn't helped and stopped taking it. I ate oatmeal several times a week.

The most recent blood results had the numbers go back up a few points ... so then I thought maybe the Cholestacare had been working.
