@qualitygal ...I stopped doing the bone density scans a few years ago. I do have osteoporosis. My drs now agree, if I'm not going to take meds, then I don't have to do the scans. If there's a new problematic issue, then, of course I'll look I into it. I do otherwise agree, it's a waste.

The meds gave me aches, and rashes, and also I have my own feelings with what the meds actually do to our bones. I have resorted to drinking bone broth awhile back. ( I made myself) and or calcium supplements. I haven't taken either for some time...im just being lazy with my health. Some dark veggies are good too. My Dr encouraged walking too.

I really don't want to mess with this. I guess the most I'd be told afterwards is, keep taking the calcium. What a waste that would seem like to me. I can't take those meds I had to once upon a time. Never was so sick, as to having to take those and I refuse to go on that again. My body says no to that. Think it was called Fosomax. Somthing like that.

After receiving a total of 3 Reclast Infusions (over a period of time), my last bone density scan revealed that I no longer have osteoprosis and my bones have progressed to osteopenia. Both my doctor and I are very pleased with the results. I'm now doing exercises (walking more, lifting weights, etc.) and who knows, maybe I can even get rid of the osteopenia. Nevertheless, it was a geat relief to know that I no longer have osteoporosis. Wishhing yuu the very best.

Fosamax, Boniva and Actonel were the first drugs for osteroprosis, very very old !!! I would not take any of them. The scan is nothing, lie down on a table and a scanner goes over your head. I take the combo of calcium, K2, magnesium, and D3 for over 20 years, my scans are good, I am now 72
