@CANDLEQUEEN

I started taking Nutrafol in June 2022, and I hope I can always afford it, because it is pricy.

I have had great results. I had too much hair in my 20s, and at some point it started to thin out, and at first I was grateful. In my 40s/50s, I started having a hard time parting my hair without it looking overly wide, and I have a cowlick in the back of my head that always seem to part in a place where my hair was thinner. I do double process my hair, color and highlights. I am 62 now and maybe 1/2 of my hair is grey and the remainder the original dark black. I like the blonde because it hides the grey better as my hair grows out.

I bought a Theradome PRO Laser Hair Growth Helmet LH80 in December 2021, but did not have much results. So I decided to try the Nutrafol.

After a few months taking Nutrafol, I re-started growing more hair! I now have enough hair to part without thin spots, though in the photo below, taken immediately after color and blow dry without styling products, you can see baby hairs sticking out around my face (not shown) because they keep growing, and the photo was taken before I smoothed them with product. Hair in the back is plenty thick.

My hair has always had body for styling (naturally textured, not quite culy) so the Nutrafol does not get credit for that, and it does keep the body after I go home and apply some leave-in conditioner or anti-humectant or oil, which I had not applied in this picture.

I use Olaplex or other sulfate free shampoo and, when I wash my own hair, K18 Leave-In Repair Hair Mask Treatment, so I have no breakage, just baby hairs. I also use coconut oil at home, or other oil and smoothing products. And hairspray in the humid days.

My hair grows and grows!

I have not, but my hairdresser has mentioned that another client of hers has been using it for a while and is pleased with the results but the only downfall is much more hair is growing in other places that she is not pleased about. Guess it varies with each individual usage.

I have very thinning hair for 40 years now, I have tried at one tme or another just about every ingredient in Nurtrafol still using some and nothing has really helped. I may try the Nutrafol hair serum, get it for a good price on Ebay.

Hi @Shelbelle

40 years is a long time. Did you see a dermatologist? I don't know that Nutrafol could reverse 40 years worth of thinning. For me, maybe 10. I attributed the thinning to hair color, but I now think my haiir thinning is hormonal aging.

You mention you have experience with the ingredients, but I don't think using the ingredients in a formula is the same as using the formula. I think of it like making a cake. If one has flour, eggs and sugar, that is not cake. When formulating a supplement, it is not only the ingredients used that make it work, but also the amount, how they are combined and processed, that make a difference in what the product is and how it works.

While the Nutrafol supplement has been studied and makes claims regarding hair growth (visibly thicker volume, reduces shedding, and makes hair grow faster, stronger, and longer), I have not seen claims that the Nutrafol serum helps with hair growth. Nutrafol claims the serum "supports visible hair thickness and strength", "reduces hair breakage", and "replenishes nutrients directly at the scalp". The serum seems formulated to help with hair breakage. I do not use it. I do use other products to strengthen and smooth the hair and increase shine.

Of course, as with anything, individual results vary, and I believe people that say the Nutrafol supplement did not work for them, but the OP asked about experiences, so I gave mine.

Cut down a lot on shedding. I used Puritan's Pride but they suddenly stopped selling it, had to switch to GNC brand I had to buy a big bottle of it.

with GNC version I started to get very strong persperation under my arms. Then, all the hair started to fall out from last april/may and still losing it. Quit the GNC SP for now. I may order the Puritan;s pride again. Because that was just a clear gelcap.

It's just a neverending cycle of some growth, then shedding with my hair. I hate this!! Everything points to menopausal changes.

@NYCLatinaMe wrote:

Thanks so very much for your time. I have tried all of the key ingredients in much higher potencies then Nurtrafol, they are together yes, but in very small dosages. I dont think it will help me. I have taken 10,000 mcg Biotin for over 20 years,.

Nutrafol claims that their supp reduces stress hormone which supposedly causes hair loss. I believe it's the ashwagandha they use that reduces the stress hormone cortisol which can affect the follicle health. Cortisol is also associated with inflammation.

hi @Shelbelle

I took biotin for many years (5-10?) and it didn't do a thing. Before that, I took Andrew Lessman Hair Skin and Nails for several years and and had no results. I do think the Biotin may have caused excessive sweating when I increased the dose, and I stopped it as soon as I read that the excessive sweating was a possible side effect, since I was suffering from the issue. Took a while for the excessive sweating to stop.

Just because one takes supplements that are included in the Nutrafol formula, does not mean one is getting the same as Nutrafol. The combination of ingredients in the proven amounts and processed in a way proven to provide results is what Nutrafol offers. Like I said, it's like eggs, sugar, flour and butter together is not a cake. It has to be done a certain way, with the correct amounts and quality of ingredients. I remember one time I made cake with flour I had in the fridge for a few months and my cake was not as good as ususal. Since then, I always buy fresh flour for my baking.

Of course, not everything works for everyone.

I think it's tough to get results if the hairloss has been around for a long time. I definitely improved my hair, but it is not what it was in my 20s.

I take the version designed for women 45+ which claims to use ingredients to target root causes of thinning, such as hormones, aging, and metabolism. They claim to be the first and only hair growth supplement with published clinical studies in menopausal women with hair thinning, proven to improve hair growth in 3-6 months.

This is the ingredients label. They don't include amounts for the nutrients that don't have a govt established Daily Value, which I assume is propietary information.

I found this picture in the product website that shows an initial condition similar to mine when I started taking this supplement. I currently have more hair than the after, but it's been 2 yrs + for me at this point.
