    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I have taken a number of Lessman Supplements for years, and my DH has as well.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;True, Lessman is not an MD. &amp;nbsp;But the MDs I have had in my lifetime have not been educated in the value of vitamins and minerals that have helped people for so many years. &amp;nbsp;Lessman has searched the world for more natural solutions.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Our doctors know what we are taking. &amp;nbsp;Macular degeneration runs in both of our families, and we have so far avoided it. &amp;nbsp;Years back, my blood sugar was higher than I liked. &amp;nbsp;And I was eating what I thought was a healthy diet. &amp;nbsp;Well, it lowered and has stayed that way for years thanks to a particular type of cinnamon. &amp;nbsp;I could go on.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Nothing is the magic bullet for health. &amp;nbsp;Vitamins and minerals will not fix every problem. &amp;nbsp;I try to buy these products on sale and stock up, but still not cheap. &amp;nbsp;It is a personal decision.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Hair grows about 1/2 a month for most, so it was working!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I come from a family of eye care docs, so was always taking various lutein/zeaxanthin supps, but Lessman's ingredients seem to fit the actual studies and information on absorption best.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG src="https://community.qvc.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/318804iEDFF765DBE34D8BF/image-size/original?v=v2&amp;amp;px=-1" border="0" alt="cholestaccare.jpg" title="cholestaccare.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Listened to Lessman's explanations at midnight (9 pm California time) and decided I was taking it wrong. I had thought of it as "take when you are eating unhealthy. sugary foods) but his explanations made sense: only 2 a day, he suggested, but one each with a meal; if you're a snacker, a snack can count as a meal.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Always learn something from Lessman's explanations.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;First time last night I heard him say he advises people to start with 2 a day on the &lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;biotin/healthy hair,&lt;/FONT&gt; then after a couple of months &lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;1 a day is enough&lt;/FONT&gt;. So, I'm winding down my 2 a day on those, and as he said last night, they will last you longer and do as well.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="5" color="#FF00FF"&gt;TIPS/SCIENCE?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Still missing great advice (based on some science!) on HOW TO TAKE supplememts. &lt;EM&gt;(Many docs, in my health care org for example, are discouraged from suggesting supplememts.)&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Some supps say take with meals.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;What about the others: &lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;better with meals or doesn't matter?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Friends, for convenience, take many in the morning—but is that harder for our bodies to effectively absorb? &lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;Space throughout the day, if you can manage that?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Once we hit age 50+ many of us are taking more, as our bodies stop producing or start needing more of SOME things.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT face="comic sans ms,sans-serif" size="4" color="#FF00FF"&gt;Share your tips/information about taking supplements!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;New studies &lt;FONT size="5"&gt;this week&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; that taking a MULTIVITAMIN is not as necessary as advertised. Great review, easy to find, JohnsHopkins Medicine, "Is there really any benefit to multivitamins?"&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I take several other Lessman supps, including coQ10, phytoceramides for skin. Re-read the Lessman&amp;nbsp;&lt;FONT color="#FF00FF"&gt;Essential 1&lt;/FONT&gt; label: it includes lots I'm already taking (biotin, eye care, for example). &lt;FONT size="4" color="#FF0000"&gt;Thinking of stopping the Essential 1. &lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;Thoughts?&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I don't have advice,&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/55652"&gt;@1Professor&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;, just want to share my experience with the Essential 1.&amp;nbsp; I have taken it for many years.&amp;nbsp; I ran out once and waited to order knowing that his TSV was coming up.&amp;nbsp; Within a week I could not believe how run down I felt.&amp;nbsp; It is one of the few supplements that I take (and that is many) that I can actually feel a difference.&amp;nbsp; I would never be without it.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I divide my supplements up throughout the day.&amp;nbsp; This is due to the fact I take many.&amp;nbsp; I make them up in little cups a month in advance.&amp;nbsp; This works for me.&amp;nbsp; I wouldn't open up that many bottles everyday to take.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;BTW my PCP knows what all I take and approves and will once in awhile tweak it.&amp;nbsp; For instance, I take strontium for bone loss.&amp;nbsp; That is to be taken separate from the calcium I take.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;I also take a hair supplement and an eye support.&amp;nbsp; I get them from Vitacost.&amp;nbsp; I listened to Andrew years ago about these products, learned, tried his, and then found something less expensive.&amp;nbsp; I do, however, take many of his products.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

So I ask questions and go on line.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I have been surprised at the number of PCP's who know little about specific conditions and automatifcally prescribe something thkat one would take for the rest of their lives. In talking with them, they simply havent read the studies, don't know alternatives, are on "automatic" when it comes to prescriptions. Some medical doctors are great, many are uninformed. "My doctor said" has never been enough for me. I never argue with docs, don't criticize, just do some checking. Read stuff from top medical sites.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;I'm generally a compliant medical patient, but look things up to see what's new, what's being questioned.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;The problem with prescriptions (life-long) is that sooner or later we have both &lt;FONT color="#FF00FF"&gt;habituation&lt;/FONT&gt; and &lt;FONT color="#FF00FF"&gt;interaction effects&lt;/FONT&gt;.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Our bodies STOP responding as well, habituation.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;Two different prescriptions affect one another.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;FONT size="3"&gt;*** So, for me, I will delay any prescription life-long type -- as long as I can get my blood work #s down in other ways.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;My doctor had my blood tested for a few vitamin/mineral levels and from the results it was determined that I &lt;U&gt;needed&lt;/U&gt; to take some supplementation. My doctor also recommended I take a multivit b/c I have malabsorption and I might not get what I need from the food I eat. That's about all I can say about supplementation and how it relates to me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BTW...I am a retired 'scientist'. I hold degrees in biochemistry&amp;nbsp;and hematology. I've worked in the fields of science for almost my entire adult years.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Although you can test things yourself and for free, go to a naturopath and they can tell you what brand, how many, what time of day, for how long, etc. Although they would charge for their time, remember that some of the cheapest brands may be better than more expensive ones and you wouldn't be buying and taking things you don't even need.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I take a lot of supplements and prescriptions too and I space them out throughout the day. &amp;nbsp;Some first thing in the morning, some with breakfast, dinner, and bedrime.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The only AL one I take is the Circulation and Vein Support. &amp;nbsp;I've been taking it for many years - it has stopped my Restless Leg Syndrome.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The number and combiation of things I take seem to really work for me - at 72 and also a diabetic I feel great and I'm very healthy considering.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I belong to Consumer Lab, which is a third party testing site. They rigorously test supplements for quality and efficacy. They will always have a recommended product within a category based on both these things plus price. I save enough money on supplements through their recommendations to easily pay for the subscription to Consumer&amp;nbsp;Lab. They will also recommend when/how to take most supplements.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
