I have never had the surgery you had so not at all familiar with it. So did the nurse tell you why shoulder pain is so common? Am wondering if air got trapped in there from being opened up, like a gas bubble or something? Just a wild guess and not based on anything at all. Just a thought----

Shortness of breath and shoulder pain are my two biggest complaints this far out after heart surgery. The nurse told me that shoulder pain is the biggest complaint post surgery. If this has been your experience, how long did your shoulder pain last? I know the shortness of breath can last for months but this shoulder pain is unbearable.
