I have dense, lumpy breasts. I had a biopsy several years ago for something THEY found, not me, and the ultrasound was inconclusive. Fibroadenoma is what the doctor called it and he said basically, that means you have lumpy breasts. You can lessen the effect by giving up caffeine (which would include chocolate) and I told him I would live with it. They aren't painful.

Last year I decided to go for the 3D mammogram. I'll stick with that for the time being.

I've never done self exams since I have lumpy breasts. My gyno told me last year, after all this time, that if the lump moves, it's okay; if it doesn't move, I should consider it suspicious.

Has anyone used this newest additional screening for breast cancer? It is AI and not covered by insurance (yet) but it's only $40 right now. It is simply an extra reading after the radiologist reads. I did it in addition to my regular mammo and ultrasound screening for extra peace of mind. Going on 9 years since my lumpectomy...

I would like to think the radiologist reading the scans is more reliable than AI. If I need a second opinion I am still not picking AI. I will like another real human reading it.

AI is much better than human radiologists. It's been evaluated and studied extensively. When AI is used, it's after a human radiologist has done their job....so both are used. Everyone should insist on AI....and not just for breasts. Your health is much better with AI as part of the check in reading and evaluating your clinical data.
