When COVID first came out and there were no vaccines my doctor told me to drink fresh ginger, Coenzyme Q-10 300mg, Vitamin C and Zinc. I continue to take these daily to this day and wear a mask when in closed spaces so far I have not had even the sniffles. Before COVID I used to get bronchitis and colds every year always on antibotics.

Well, I was hoping I wouldn't get DH's covid but it looks like I have....well..maybe? They ran a test at the walk-in clinic and it didn't show up. They docter told me that if you come in before having it for 48 hrs (and I did because I was so miserable and in bed all day) it's not uncommon for the test to be negative. Everything on the computer that I read said, if you have a fever you should get in right away? Also, they took another test and were "sending it out" so while they think it probably is Covid...I won't know for sure till that test comes back. Covid, flu, RSV....all have similar symptoms....especially the Covid and the Flu.

Anyway, whatever it is, it's pretty miserable and I'm hoping they will get back with me soon as I was not given any medicine for it. I can't take

Paxlovid because I take Brilinta and the two don't mix.

I had it and only thing I had was body aches but my husband got hit hard. He took Plaxlovid as well.

I tested positive at home and he was negative but he tested positive at doctors. His high fever is what worried me. He has several health issues already.

Since covid first appeared in our lives, I began taking 1000 mg of vitamin C and 50mg of Zinc every day. Since I have an auto immune issue, I find that even if I get covid, it shortens the length and the severity of the illness. Last year's covid was totally different than this year! No fever this year, started as nose pouring water, eyes pouring water, mild sore throat, then cough and tons of phlegm. Doctor immediately put us on high dose steroids. Our symptoms started 12-20 and right up to today, residual symptoms are lack of energy, headache and sinus pouring down the back of the throat. This stuff is no joke. Drink lots of fluids, sip piping hot broths, hot green tea and vitamin C and zinc. Wish you well.

@jubilant - I hope you recover quickly from whatever virus you are experiencing. Green tea, black tea, Kyolic garlic capsules, a multivitamin, extra Vitamin D3, extra Vitamin C, zinc with copper (because zinc can deplete copper), quercetin, oil of oregano, Holy basil, olive leaf extract, glutathione or NAC, nigella sativa (black cumin seed), coconut oil and coconut milk (containing lauric acid, caprylic acid and capric acid), turmeric/curcumin supplements with black pepper, are all helpful against these viruses. You just need to research if any of them might cause a problem when taken with any of the Rx medications you take daily.

When I had COVID last May, I noticed a strange, tingly-painful headache which felt unlike any headache I had ever had before (not that I've had many of them-- typically a caffeine withdrawal headache due to someone giving me decaf coffee when I ordered caffeinated), and when I was almost fully recovered and could breathe quite well without any congestion or nasal swelling - then and only then did my sense of smell and taste radically diminish. That was weird. I used all kinds of heavily scented items to retrain my nose to smell again using smell therapy (garlic powder, black pepper, lavender oil, ground coffee, cinnamon, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil). I was so relieved when just sniffing those things for ten minutes a few times a day restored my sense of smell. In the past, I would lose my sense of smell and taste only when my sinuses were seriously swollen, infected, or clogged up with a ton of gunk from a virus or a bacteria, and immediately upon resolution of those symptoms, my sense of smell and taste would be fully restored with no effort required on my part. Not so when I had COVID. When COVID made me lose my sense of smell, at a time when I had perfectly optimal air intake and no perceptible nasal swelling or clogging, it made no sense to me at all. I am so glad I read an article about smell therapy online.

Read an interesting article abt how infrequent people sick with Covid are prescribed Paxlovid when there are thousands of Free does available but Doctors are not prescribing it due to a big long list of meds that interact with the antiviral.

So many things seem to be going around now that waiting rooms are scary. Just like in the old days 🤪

My PCP and derm both told me today get back to UC about the infection on my forearm, but watching at it home seems safer.

Why can't they set up a system to call you in from outside or your car?
