I have some sleep issues and my husband has started snoring when he is in certain positions. He used flonase in the PM hours but it does not seem to help. I am a very light sleeper and as a result I have been awake sine 5 30 am and he is still in bed asleep. I think he needs to be evaluated for Sleep apnea

Both my husband and I have sleep apnea. He's had it longer. Neither one of our machines make noise so it wouldn't bother anyone. He definitely should be checked out, the sleep studies are a pain but well worth it.

I have had sleep apnea for 12 years and my machine does not make noise. If a machine makes noise, most likely, the mask is ill fitting and he or she may need a different type of mask.

He probably needs a sleep study and his primary doctor can set-him up with the doctor that he needs to get it done.

I had a recent sleep study and even with the loss of 88 pounds, I still have sleep apnea. I sleep very well with my machine with no noise.

You should hear my dog some nights! My husband and the dog take turns. In a way it's so good to feel they are both there. When hubs snores too loudly, I ask him to roll over, and he does. End of my problem.

The newer style cpap machines are much quieter than the older models. I love mine - really helps with my allergies since the machine has a filter.

My DH also has a Cpap. The machine is fine, the sound comes when his full mask starts leaking. I nudge him and say the mask is whooshing and he says he doesn't hear it. Of course not, he's losing his hearing from all the heavy equipment he used to work around. So I keep a pair of earplugs on a cord that came from his working days under my pillow. I stuff that earplug down as far as I can on my "top" ear and my bottom ear gets muffled by the pillow. (I sleep on my side.) The secret is to do it quikly before I'm fully awake and back to peaceful slumber I go. The cord keeps the earplug from getting stuck.

@I am still oxox wrote:

I agree. He sould be chcked for sleep apena. My late husband had that and he had to use a machine for that. Sleep apnea can be dangerous if not addressed

There are many reasons for snoring. Being overweight is one of them. Losing weight helped me, but not completely. I was referred to an ENT and it was discovered that I had nasal polyps. Having them removed and maintaining my followup care has given me the ability to breathe freely and quietly.
