My doctor just called and said that the nodule in my lung is still holding steady, actually shrunk a bit again, which is good, and to continue to see my pulmonologist. Thanks again for all your prayers

What is a nodule? I know a tumor is bad news. A cyst can be bad news. Is a nodule bad news? What is the difference between a tumor and a nodule? What is the difference between a cyst and a nodule? Can all thre be cancerous? Are they all subject to surgery? I'm not savvy about medical terms, so I'm curious about this-especially a nodule.
