I'm supposed to get yearly mammograms after I had an issue with my left breast. The biopsy turned out to be benign THANKFULLY. It's been since Covid that I've had one....but I do have one scheduled in February, along with a pap, something else I'm not up to date on.

Its interesting, I am 62 and just went in for my pap a few months ago, my doctor said after I come back at 65 I no longer need pap smears, seems odd. She explained why I don't remember exactly why. I am with Kaiser and they are very aggressive about prevention so I was surprised.

@spumoni99 That is interesting. I'm gonna ask my dr about that when I go too. Maybe the likelihood of cancer is thought to lessen as we age, I'm not sure. I'm in my 50s. I haven't had a hysterectomy or anything like that. I have dealt with a lot of cysts though. In fact, I think the last pap I had was when I was in the hospital with this type of problem about 5 years ago. I wasn't able to have children & that's always bothered me a lot. I'm also an only child, so I don't have any nieces or nephews either. Luckily though, I have twin cousins I'm really close with who each had 3 kids. They're spending a lot of their time growing up around me. I always look forward to when they visit.

I'm so sorry, I went through infertility and I know how painful it is. I tried for 9 years but finally got pregnant. My husband had a low sperm count but I think when he quite smoking it helped, its odd because after the first child I got pregnant within a year with the second.

My GYN stops Pap testing at 65 for those who have had normal test results for a specific length of time AND are negative for HPV, which is a contributing factor to gynecological cancers.
