How Old Is Your Heating Pad?

I pulled the main muscle in the back of my neck; I'm supposed to alternate warm and cold. This heating pad has to be at least 30 years old!

Time to replace, lol!

Don't own one but with some upper arm pain that isn't going away, I should buy one.

@ECBG @Feel better! I just got one for Christmas last year! I think I got mine the first year they were invesnted so I asked for a new one!

If I could find it, probably about 40 years old. I live in Phoenix...the very thought of "extra heat" is not desirable (!!)

As long as it's working.

We have about 4 in the house, the oldest around 5 years old.

I have a Sunbeam, at least 15 yrs old.

I don't use it often but sits in it's original box in my bedroom closet. I used it over Easter and still works like new. Has a flannel snap close pad cover that I hand wash and line dry.

You've probably got better quality than the schlock made today.

I would worry it could be a fire hazard it it doesn't have the auto shut-off that the new ones have.

My husband uses a heating pad daily; he goes thru at least 2 a year. The VA supplies his heating pads.

I don't have one and can't remember the last time I used one. I'm pretty much and ice, and RICE guy for injuries, and believe me, I have had aplenty!

I use one all the time and I find with that kind of use they don't last more than a few years.

I really appreciate the soft fluffy pads they have now even in pretty colors.

The idea of putting heat on something that is inflamed seems ..... counter-intuitive to me.

For pain or pulled muscles, I use Salon Pas lidocaine roll on or cream.

The old one I had was Sunbeam brand probably had it for approximately ten years before it quit working....I did buy another one because I find they are good to have for those aches and pains that I have on occasion...

My Sunbeam was old, so, about 5 years ago I bought a nice one from QVC!
