Best Product to track steps while walking?

I use a stand up walker while walking and I make sure to step instead of sliding along. One foot is smaller than the other like 2 sizes. I have tried the battery operated pedometer that you can wear around your neck or pants pocket. I have a galaxy cell phone and installed a pedometer app. I try to count my steps while walking. The previously mentioned products don't seem to be accurate. I walked around in the house for 45 minutes and the cell phone app recorded only 26 minutes and counted every other step.I adjusted everything on the cell phone app. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Im on my second fitbit alta. It's very simple and syncs up with your cell phone easily. I don't need all the bells and whistles of some fit bits and apple products. My Alta tells me the steps and miles I walk which is all I want. It can record sleep, too, but I don't.

Its a very good way to get yourself going. I put my fitbit in my pants pocket. I have counted as I walked to see if it got the right amount of steps. It does for me. At least I have some idea how much I'm walking.
