injection for scar tissue

I just had a type of water soluable steroid injection in the area of my big toe (cheilectomy surgery) to break up scar tissue so that I can walk completely normal instead of a slight limp due to the fact that the joint is still somewhat stiff. It's a little sore and takes a few days to kick in. To be checked in 6 weeks. Anyone ever had this? I also do exercises to help it along but that was not quite enough.

I have had steroid injections to reduce scar tissuei associated with knee surgery and ear piercing. My ear had a keloid that reduced by 50% after the first shot and the last %05 after the second. The scar tissue on my knees were injected repeatedly with microdoses of steroids (think nal gun but with needles). Both knees have flat scars. A topical spray was given for each knee before the injections. I highly recommend the injections your body is not affected negatively. Speak with your doctor.

No this is NOT cortisone. For my situation, it is for breaking up scar tissue to allow better movement in the joint of my toe/foot, It is NOT to reduce the look of the actual incision scar. That is not my problem. There are injections for that but this is not what mine was for.

@bargainsgirl I hope it works. I've never heard of this before.

@cindyNC I've had the cortisone shots because of Cervical Spine Fusion where I had a keloid scar on my neck. I was so happy it worked for me.
