I have been there with family members. Some of the meds that they are on causes some foods to affect them in different manners. Some of the items I would get depending on what kind of foods were plain hummus (not the flavored --ie garlic), vanilla shake--usually a bit on the thicker side-always found this to be the preferance. There is rice--perhaps made of veggies but that can be a bit tricky if the person is on a med that is not a good match with the veggie-- (for example veggies with vitamin K and coumadin are not a good match).

If you google what foods are best for someone suffering from an advanced illness like you indicted that your husband has you will find good sources. Some foods suggested were cream soups, pudding, mashed potatoes. hot cereals and mac and cheese. The source that I saw also explained why certain foods cannot be tolerated and why an individual in an advanced stage of a serious illness does not need much of food.

I am sure this must be so hard for you and your husband. Wishing you strength and comfort during this difficult time.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Is he starting to have trouble chewing and swallowing? Will he eat vanilla yogurt or pudding? Will he take a little pureed in a blender food or soup? Any low salt soup will be blander or almost no flavor tasting.Just puree it up. What about oatmeal with a little extra water so it is not thick? I'll be thinking of you.
