When a medical provider suggests a supplement like calcium, they are usually quite specific with their recommendation. This is one I would not take on my own without a test result and medical suggestion.

I would ask my doctor about calcium supplementation and also the type to consume. Some people do better with certain types of calcium depending on their lifestyle, eating habits, medical conditions and medications.

Calcium supplementation and it's recommendations has changed over the years. It's a good idea to take another look at what it could mean for you if you take them. There are risks and then there is evidence that it doesn't help build bones or prevent fractures.

I was told many years go by my gyno to take calcium. I take simple calcium carbonate along with Vit K2, Vit D3 and Magnesium. These 4 ingredients go together as a formula for taking clacium properly. Dont take more than 600 mg calcium at time, it wont all be absorbed if you take more.

I can only say that I had a significant calcium and a vitamin d deficiency. I see an endocrinologist and he told be to take Citrical and only Citrical. I take 3 tablets a day. He said Citrical is easier on the stomach and absorbs better that any other calcium citrate he knows. Too much calcium can give you kidney stones.
