With this many of us having problems, I put the newest books away and dug my old books back out. It just didn't feel right to not count all we put in our mouths. We did that before when I did lose the weight. Time to turn that clock back and use what worked. I had hopes for this one but too long a little up and a little down (stuck) I'll see if this doesn't do better.

I'm glad now to see it's not just me that's stuck. This is beyond a plateau. (In my book).

I go to the meetings every week, know what to do and what not to do, but just sitting at losing a pound, gaining a pound, up a half, down a quarter. I'm not close to goal at all and I'm not too comfortable, it's just all this cra* in my life right now, the scale isn't moving and I'm not tracking, weighing anything out but very conscious of what goes in my mouth.

I don't know if you need to fail to succeed, but this just su*ks.

Probably just a temporary setback, Nantucket. Due to stress, I've had serveral false starts lately but I think I'm finally back on track now. Also, maybe your body has plateaued. Don't give up. Think about how you won't have to pay anymore when you reach goal, lol.

I'm so glad you posted. Right now, I am sitting at a plateau (actually plus a few pounds) and I need a major jump start. I checked today about Weight Watchers--and I've joined a lot of times. I just cannot get motivated by all the points, counting, etc. I know it's me and my fault. Not the program--but I have to get with it someway, somehow.

Are you exercising along with the diet? Doing both is key to success. The exercise will help to burn extra calories, reshape your body and rev your metabolism.

Don't forget to drink plenty of water too. If you are retaining water, drinking water will actually help to flush it out.

First, please do not call it failing....you are not a failure. You need to take a look at what you have been doing right...and then look what you been doing that is slowing your progress. Write it all down. Look at the list of destructive behaviors and pick one or two that you can stop doing for a week. At the end of that week, pick another one. Stop doing that one for a week..keep doing this until all the destructive behaviors are crossed out. You probably only have one or two... That is all it takes to stop your progress. You know what to do...you just slipped up, easy to get back on track....we all need to reflect on how we are doing sometimes.

Hang in there Nantucket. I had made it to goal and within weeks was back up just enough to no longer be free... but I was so sure I could take those pounds off that I didn't weigh in because I was too embarrassed. Well guess what, when I summoned my courage I was up even more!!! I found my determination and got within 1 1/2 pounds. I joined a health club and went everyday... followed the plan faithfully.. so sure at next weigh in I would be back at goal... I was up 1 3/4lbs. I then did what I always do. Feeling sorry for myself and an. " I'll get them attitude" I ate my way through my son and husbands Easter baskets!!! Kept on going. I am hoping to go to my meeting Saturday morning... Probably will not weigh in but try to gain some more motivation. I guess what I am trying to say is you are not alone... this is a daily battle.... Try to take it day by day.. meal by meal.... do your best and keep trying. Stress, hurt feelings, disappointment send me straight to the junk food. I have decided that if I can find some time this weekend I am heading to the store for a great new item just a bit small and hope that motivates me to keep going. Keep going to your meetings, they are important. Join the WW message boards and post when you are stressed..... We are out here to help you, help each other... You are NOT alone. Just the other day my leader posted on face book" A year from now you will wish you had started today" Best of luck... We are hear to help.... You are not alone!

Don't give up, you are just in a rut. Go talk to your leader at the next meeting, go a bit early before the weigh-in starts so you can talk to her about your issues. They are really helpful, and really do want you to succeed.

Losing weight is a battle. It is discouraging at times. You just have to get back on the horse if you fall off! If you aren't tracking then start tomorrow. And do it. You are the only person that has the power to change your behavior and do what you know you need to do to lose the weight. Exercise is also important.

I could never do Simple Start. I am Old School Weight Watchers, from the Fat and Fiber plan waaay back when and another program I can't remember (the one before Fat and Fiber)-- late 80s/early 90s!

Everyone is different, but I MUST measure and weigh my food. I must! I can't eyeball anything. I use my books, I track and I weigh and measure and it works for me.

Don't give up.

I can lose about 16 pounds on WW, then it stops. Cold. No matter what else I do. I've tried 3 times--same results. They just let me eat too much good food. Fruit and veggies DO count at least for me.

Sometimes you think you are all alone......I'm happy I have company but I'm looking for that "magic pill". They say there's no such thing as a stress gain...you know why??? because stress doesn't cause pounds, it's what you are putting in your mouth while you are stressing that's causing the weight gain.

I know what to do, yes, but I'm hosting my own pity party.

I should be happy with my weight loss so far but for some reason the motivation to go further is at a halt.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement, need to turn this around, I think I made a huge mistake by buying one size smaller clothes and they are all hanging here and they are tight somewhere. For sure I'm not going to do that again. I'm probably depressing myself since I can't fit in them (I guess I could if I wanted to look like a sausage).

I am in the same position but I continue to go to my WW meeting every week. I feel as though I would keep gaining if I didn't attend meetings and get weighed. It keeps me aware of what I am eating and what I need to do. I have had a lot of stress in my life the last year or so and it has made me get off track. I recently started planning healthy meals and every week I start over hoping to stick to plan 1 more day. I found Weight Watcher Girl online and she has lost over 155 lbs on the WW plan. She provides motivation, shares recipes and recommends lower point foods. I subscribed to her blog and try to watch that in between meetings. I feel she gives me hope and inspiration. I really think tracking is the key to successful weight loss and she feels this way also. Hang in there and don't give up!

This is why.

I have been with WW since 1999 and I will tell you that I have tried Simply Filling before and it's just not for me as a clean eater. I did try Simple Start just to see how it would work because people were loving it, but I lasted 3 days.
Hi, This story sounds like me. I used to be a receptionist at WW in my 40 and 50 s WW always worked for me. If I gained some back I would go right back to counting points, and I did fine. Fast forward to 60 years old, I gained back some weight and tried to do WW again, plus water aerobics. I would lose a pound. Gain a pound, this went on for weeks. I stopped doing the water aerobics, I hurt my shoulder. I got no where with WW never lost. I did everything g exactly as I should have done. Then I did a nutritional cleanse and within 2 weeks I lost my 12 pounds. I feel great, and the weight and inches just feel off. I had to go buy a whole new wardrobe, I dropped a few dress sizes. I have gotten noticed, people asking me how I did it. I felt so strongly about this nutritional cleansing, I am now helping others in this journey. It has changed my life. I am thin, trim and I have taken a new direction in life. I do not count points any longer. My life is just do simplified now. I am so glad I gave it a try, it has changed my life.
