Indeed, there are a lot of junk supplements out there. I would say stay away from hard tablets. They are the cheapest formulation and hard to digest. Most have additives like talc.

Maybe look at a protein supplement with a good balance of vitamins and minerals? There are a lot of good brands like Optimum Nutrition. Mix in water, milk or juice. I put 1/2 scoop of vanilla with my oatmeal. I add cinnamon, real maple syrup, milk, etc to flavor.

You can also look at ready to drink brands but stay away from the cheap stuff and kwap that's marketed to seniors.

You get what you pay for.

I have never been able to take multivitamins....tried several brands; bother my stomach. Dr says it is usually the iron in a multivitamin that gives people a stomach upset. I take my vitamins individually and that works better for me. Premier Protein drinks are fabulous. 1 g sugar and 30 G protein and they taste great. The "senior" drinks taste bad and don't have nearly the nutrition as the Premier drinks. Costco has the best price especially when on sale, but you can buy a four pack at WM or grocery store to try them. Their website is helpful also.

I am going to suggest you try digestive enzymes when you eat. I am using Digest Gold right now. They add the enzymes we need to properly digest food. DIgest Gold is not cheap though and you take one per meal. They keep me from having stomach aches after I eat. I have had my gallbladder removed and now I don't digest fat well and my liver shoots out a alot of bile when I eat fat, even avocado or salmon. I can eat some but not daily. I have also used VItamin Shoppe brands. What I don't like about Andrew Lessman is he doesn't always put on the label what is in the supplement, like in his cholesterol lowering supplement. It makes my liver hurt. So I purchase other brands. I don't know if his brands are quality or not. Always read labels. Make sure you are taking enough Vitamin D or getting out in the sun, have your blood level checked. Many older adults lack enough Vitamin D. I keep my blood level up to 60-80 units of how they measure it. That makes me feel best. Amazon doesn't always have the high quality brands. You can look on Vitamin Shoppe dot com or iherbs dot com and see their brands. But I will say that problem is that since covid some things are in shorter supply or companies aren't carrying as much. If you have a Whole Foods or a Sprouts or Natural Grocers or anything like that, you can go there and find quality brands.
