My husband has always wanted an Inversion Table. I thought I would purchase one for him as an Anniversary gift. Any pros & cons would be appreciated! Also, what brand holds up the best and has the best features? Thanks for any suggestions.

Why not have him learn yoga poses? They include inversions. I don't like buying things like this as they take up a lot space and eventually turn into dust catchers and then flea market. Just saying, there's other options for inversions.

We have had one for about 12 years, and it has saved my DH from having to have back surgery. We only use it occasionally, especially when DH's back is really hurting. He hates to use it, because the weakness in his back prevents him from getting back upright by himself. But, by using this, the pain goes away and he is good to go.

I like it for the stretch, and doing sit-ups upside down is a challenge. There is a lot of pressure on the ankles even with the padding. The thing is huge and takes up a lot of space.

Our cat loves balancing and bouncing around on it too.

I had one I purchased from QVC at least 20 years ago. It made my back feel great and I think I was actually taller. What killed me was where my ankles were clamped into the apparatus. I used it for about 10 years but after I broke my ankle, I could no longer deal with the ankle pain.

Whenever my husband tried using it, he ended up with a headache.

My ex-neighbor bought one 5-6 years ago and she had a really bad back. Got the shots three times a year and used the table. She said the table helped.

She has moved away and she is around 67 now. I heard she got remarried and is very happy. She could barely move before.

We have an inversion table that my DH uses occasionally. We've had it for many years. It has not been a miracle cure for his back, but helps. I think the biggest con is that it is rather large and takes up space.

He also has inversion boots. You put them on and hang upside down from a horizontal bar. You have to be able to get on and off the bar, which would be a challenge for most people!

We love ours. We use it whenever we need to stretch our backs or when our backs are out. It is hard on the ankles so I wear boots to help with that. I like thinking its always there whenever we need it.

We also got the Teeter Inversion table from HSN and love it, I have neck and back problems and go to the Chiropractor all the time for adjustments, this inversion keeps me aligned between visits and for me my best friend it really helps. No smelly rubs, or medicine I don't need. very natural way to help yourself. I had to get use to locking my feet in and it took awhile to get use to the hanging. This particular one is easy to use, you can come up on your own and unlock your feet with no problems. Our whole family uses it. We got ours as a Todays Special Value, it came with some extra's and was on easy pay. They do have it as a special often so watch HSN and keep an eye out for it.

We have a Teeter, purchased from HSN maybe 6 years ago. I had one of the originals 35 years ago which I had to abandon in CA when I moved for lack of space on the moving van.

The only con is it takes up a lot of space like someone mentioned.

What you do with an IT is set the ankle clamps so you can gently go to vertical. You can go to horizontal and gently rock toward vertical just a few degrees if you wish, just by finding the right location for the ankle adjustment. When you do the gentle rocking, you feel the decompression in the painful area of the low back. Depending on your overall health, you can go deeper and deeper toward the vertical, but you don't have to go far to get benefits. It's all up to you.

I had terrible childbirths and was in excruciating pain for years. The "backswing" (it was called that decades ago) was a godsend. - Bird

I've had one for many years but since I broke my ankle I don't use it as much because of pressure on my ankle but I feel so good after inverting. I used to use it every morning but now only a couple of times a week or when I've been on my feet a lot and my lower back hurts. Shortly after I got mine they came out with inversion recliners which are just as effective as full inversion unless you want to do inversion sit ups.

I purchased a teeter inversion table from HSN, It is wonderful my son who is in his early 20's has back issues and doesn't like going for treatments, so he inverts and is able to put his back into place. I use it as I suffer from fibromylgia, CFS and severe lower back pain and it is amazing how it helps between my treatments. Do your research I had gotten mine on a TSV, easypays. A lot of people c/o of taking up space, but mine folds up so in between uses that is what I do. I am glad I have one and if I haven't used it for awhile, I just dust it off and upside down I go. Good Luck

We bought a Teeter at D*ck's Sporting Goods (can I really not say the name of the store? Sheesh ) many years ago. I swear every day at work I think "I need to hang upside down when I get home." and then when I get home I forget about it, so it doesn't get used as often as I'd like, due to my MMM (menopausal memory malfunction). But...I think it feels great! There have been times when I've had a kink or a pain in my neck, back, leg, knee, ankle, etc and after hanging on the Teeter it's felt better and sometimes even goes away. I can't hang for long b/c I don't like that light-headedness when the blood goes to your head, although that's one of the good health benefits of it. And I don't hang completely upside down b/c I don't hang often enough to get accustomed to going that far. It feels like I'm more vertical than I actually am! I don't regret buying it and my intention is to use it more often b/c I do think it's a good fitness tool. My chiropractor gave it a thumbs up when I bought it.
