GOT MODERNA YESTERDAY #1

Had an appointment at Costco, got there waaay early and only had a short wait until I was checked in and got the injection. I didn't even feel it. I was told to sit and wait 15 minutes and then was free to leave.

It went so well I actually left 10 minutes before my original appointment time. AND they make the appointment for #2 while you are there so no worries about that.

Am very glad to get that done. I was also told that the card you're given cannot be replaced if you lose it. They are only given the exact number of cards as they have doses of the vaccine. I thought that was a great idea.

Glad you were able to get. Hubs and I were supposed to get 2nd dose of pfizer vaccine Friday but we are having the worst snow/ice storm in 7 years so has been resheduled for this coming Monday afternoon.

In out State Walmart openned a lot of local slots. I was able to get my 79 year old in laws vaccinated today. It was quick and the pharmacist was excellent. They are scheduled for their next visit. The had been on a waiting list from the hospital for 3 weeks with no contact. I am so glad they are sending the vaccines out to the different stores.

It's sad that they did not think of some way, like the veterinarian's office, to give you an identity with a number so that if you lose it, there is a record of it someplace but I guess this was done so quickly, it was not well thought out. I guess rabies shots were not well thought-out either when they first came out but I think the veterinarian kept a record of them.

@Nonametoday I honestly can't equate the mass vaccinations going on with animals getting shots at the vet's. It's a much larger scale and I don't know how they could efficiently keep records of the millions who have been and will be vaccinated.

All the cards have a lot number giving important info.

Adults who are getting this vaccine should be able and responsible enough to hold on to this card, it's not that big and fits fine in my wallet.

Since it is probably going to be required for air travel, etc., in the near future and we are going to have to live with it long term and many of the people getting them are elderly, it is incumbent upon the government to have some kind of database.

When I got mine they said to take a picture with your phone just in case you lose your card.

I lucked out and scored an appointment for Moderna #1 at the Walgreens pharmacy two blocks from my house. Well organized handling the paperwork and the shot was completely painless. I sat still for 10 minutes and then walked home. A bit of a sore arm today but even that is fading. No other side effects.

I'm glad and grateful after weeks of trying and trying to get an appointment and this so convenient! My next shot is exactly 4 weeks later. Scheduled and confirmed by email.

I scanned the CDC card into my computer and will scan it again after the second shot info is written in. That way I have the original card, plus the scanned file that I can print any time.

I think opening the pharmacies to accommodate mostly seniors who need a local, convenient, and familiar venue for their shots was a find idea. I would have been able to drive myself anywhere to get vaccinated, but this worked out especially lucky for me.

@Love my grandkids Thanks. Weather report said should be ok by Monday afternoon. From what I've read you can have a maximum of 42 days between doses if you can't get the 2nd dose on time.

Yes, it is great, the only problem in our State is you can only register for Walmart online and a lot of seniors don't have computers. At this point you can't walk into the store and sign up or call. Hopefully they come up with a way to help seniors without computers.

@Love my grandkids We were told to take a photo with our cell phone of the vaccinations card. After my first one I took a photo and also one of the second appointment card, just in case!

Someone suggested having the card laminated or copied.
