I'm afraid to post a link because I always get poofed, but you can google it and see what comes up.

I back ordered two bottles on Amazon, since I cannot be vaccinated for awhile.

I have been using it several times a day since COVID started. It kills viruses on contact. I get it from Amazon, but I believe it can be purchased in health stores. I haven't even had sniffles from a potential cold since starting with the product.

JMO but I highly doubt it's efficacy. If it was a way to avoid contracting Covid 19 you would hear about on the news.Dr. Fauci would be talking about it. Anybody could run a"test"& publish their results. True tests have to be run under strict scientific guidelines & go through various stages of testing.

Until I get my vaccine & beyond I will continue to follow CDC guidance. It's not fun but it's keeping me alive.

he Xlear Sinus Care nasal sprayis a combination of Xylitol and saline that soothes and moisturizes the sinus and nasal passages. The patented solution is all-natural and contains xylitol, purified water, salt, and grapefruit seed extract. It's a no for me as it contains "xylitol".

New research suggests at significantly reducing and nearly eliminating SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 after a single dose.

An in vitro study conducted by scientists from Northwestern University and Utah State University concluded that components found within the Xlear nasal spray, particularly grapefruit seed extract and xylitol, were successful in statistically reducing the amount of SARS-CoV-2.

After a single blast, the researchers saw the nasal spray reduced virus from 4.2 to 1.7 log10 CCID50 per 0.1 mL, a statistically significant reduction of 2.5 log10 CCID50.” News of the study was announced by Xlear and the company said this is only the latest research that reaches a conclusion the over-the-counter spray is effective against the virus that causes COVID-19.

Xlear is currently sold as a nasal irrigant for cleansing and moisturizing the nasal cavities.

There are too many confounding variables and it is not possible to determine from this study what effect the nasal spray had on the patients with regard to the lessening of viral symptoms or to the shortening of days to cessation of hospitalization (none of the patients were hospitalized), aka, duration of hospital stay days, or to compare with controls (there were no controls) not receiving this therapy as to the number of days hospitalized to release from the hospital.

I'm not saying that this product is not helpful. I am saying that in my opinion there is not enough evidence to make scientific claims about it. There is evidence from other research about irrigation of the nasal passages with neti pots and with the use of gargles such as Listerine. Look for my post about this. These agents studied in this other research were not studied in patients that had already tested positive for COVID. These studies were testing different substances as preventative agents or agents that reduced viruses; I think I remember that theses studies were in vitro (not in live people) have not reread the studies in a few months, so I'm guessing.

Health Professionals Petition CDC for Guidance: Americans Use Nasal Sprays to Combat COVID-19 Pandemic; Doctors Use in Treating Patients

“Studies show nasal sprays, such as Xlear, reduces risk of COVID-19 transmission and infection”

December 23, 2020 08:00 AM Eastern Standard Time

WASHINGTON----Today, a consortium of 15 doctors, nurses and other public health professionals petitioned the Centers for Disease Control to issue Guidance calling on: Americans to use nasal sprays to combat the COVID-19 pandemic; and doctors to use them in treating COVID-19 patients.

“We have more data supporting the use of nasal sprays against COVID-19 than we had supporting the use of masks and social distancing when CDC told Americans to do those things”

The petition has also been placed on Change.org and the medical professionals are seeking support for it from all Americans.

The petition in particular calls on CDC to tell Americans to use nasal sprays as part of a layered defense against COVID-19. “You wash your hands; you should wash your nose, too. You wear a mask and social distance; you should do that and use a nasal spray,” said Dr. Alonzo Jones, one of the petitioners, and an inventor of one of the studied nasal sprays.

“We have more data supporting the use of nasal sprays against COVID-19 than we had supporting the use of masks and social distancing when CDC told Americans to do those things,” Dr. Mark Cannon, another petitioner, said. “Nasal sprays are inexpensive, non-invasive, safe, and you can get them off-the-shelf at your local store. It’s pure commonsense,” Cannon added.

“We have data showing that certain nasal sprays don’t just wash away the virus. Certain sprays actually block, deactivate and/or kill the virus,” said Dr. Gustavo Ferrer, a respiratory illness expert who has conducted research on the use of nasal sprays to combat COVID-19, and is among the petitioners.

As a result, the petition calls specifically for CDC Guidance to focus on the use of nasal sprays that contain Xylitol and grapefruit seed extract. Recent studies have found that these natural components used together are antiviral (they block SARS-CoV-2 adhesion to the nasal membrane) and virucidal (they kill or deactivate the virus). One such spray, Xlear, is currently widely available in the US. Xlear has been used by millions of people worldwide, over twenty-plus years, without any adverse effects reported.

Additionally, a new, small clinical study found Xlear lessens the severity and shortens the duration of COVID-19 illnesses, and reduces the risk of further transmission, which is why the petition calls for guidance to doctors to use it as an adjunct to current treatments.
