Whitening Toothpaste

I have been using Supersmile toothpaste for several years, it works for me since I have a lot of crowns. But, it is expensive. I was wondering if anyone has used a drugstore whitening toothpaste that worked for them?

I use SuperSmile and am very pleased with the results. It is pricey. Now, they sell the pre-rinse as a seperate product. My husband uses the pre rinse and regular over the counter toothpaste and is happy with the results. He soes not have the hard to whiten teeth that I do but it's an option that works for him.

I am not a fan of Super Smile, but I use either Crest 3D White or Colgate Optic White, usually have a coupon for one or the other.

I often use a drugstore toothpaste along with the SuperSmile to make it last longer. The drugstore paste in the morning when I do a quick brush, then SuperSmile at night when I do a longer brush.

I bought the 2 pack super size of super smile , and i had used it before , i just don't like the consistancy of the paste , it won't stay on tooth brush and even on your teeth while you are trying to brush, the price is not an issue for me , but i will not buy again. I have always liked Arm & Hammer whitening paste. Don't get me wrong the Super Smile might be a better whitening, if i didn't have to deal with it falling off toothbrush.

That's what I would do, too. Though I don't use a whitening toothpaste I use the IntelliWhite whitening pens and alternate them with an inexpensive whitening pen as maintenance. Works for me.

That's what I would do, too. Though I don't use a whitening toothpaste I use the IntelliWhite whitening pens and alternate them with an inexpensive whitening pen as maintenance. Works for me.

I actually don't really care about the whitening aspect. I use the SuperSmile more because of sensitivity. That works better for me on sensitivity than the drugstore brands that specialize in it.

But I can manage with once a day since it is pretty pricey.

I have sensitive teeth also. I finally found an affordable drugstore toothpaste which has been a godsend. The Colgate Total SF Advanced Whitening. It's formulated with an anti-sensitivity ingredient and it works! The SF stands for stannous fluoride and that is what makes the sensitivity go away. That type of fluoride is better than sodium fluoride which most other brands use and it doesn't work for me.

I like using plain old baking soda a couple times a week because I can't use alot of toothpaste that's on the market. I wish Beekman 1802 would make a natural toothpaste.

I'm currently using Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum Whitening. It also uses stannous fluoride, which does seem to work decently.

I may give the Colgate a try and see if I like that too. I like to have alternatives, especially now when stock isn't always available when I need it.

I use Colgate Optic White. My teeth are bonded - and I actually don't know if it makes any difference.

I've been using the toothpaste since I had the teeth done.

I pour hydrogen peroxide (that all drugstores sell) directly on my toothbrush before the toothpaste and it keeps my teeth white. I make sure though not to get it on my gums and to swish water in my mouth afterwards.

For years I've used either Colgate Optic White or Crest 3D Whitening (whichever I have a coupon for). I don't expect either one to make my old teeth whiter - so I haven't been disappointed. My hope is that using these toothpastes prevents my teeth from getting more yellow. If they stop or slow down the yellowing process, I'll be happy.

I like these two, Crest 3D White and Colgate Optic White also. They work good for a reasonable price.

No matter what brand I try, they all seem to make my teeth so sensitive. It's so frustrating as I keep wasting money. I talked to my hygienist about it and she said many people have the same problem.

I've read several articles lately that say most all toothpaste has the same ingredients and they just slap a different 'feature' on the box. They may have a tad more of an ingredient for whitening or sensitivity etc, but not enough to make any difference in the end.

Google it and save some money.

Yes, usuallt silica, which is an abrasive to remove stains. some contain peroxide too, which can cause sensitivity.

I discovered Colgate Total SF toothpaste last year. They make a whitening version, too. I bought it b/c it says 'Anti-sensitivity' on the label and it works! It doesn't cost a lot either.
