What is the "them" they will replace? Knowing engines and oil and fluid leaks, that is a pretty vague statement for Kia to make. Some oil leaks can be fixed with a gasket, others require and engine to be removed to find a leak.

Just my curiosity. Nice of you to post this for Kia owners.

I know Toyota sent us several recall notices, some required a signature. We were getting 1 after the other, so I decided after we got 3 different ones, to take it in and have them all done in 1 trip. The only 1 that really concerned me was the "passenger airbag deploying". The others were more of annoyance type issues.

hckynut

This recall might be for something that as included when you took in your car. You should get a notice in the mail or you could call your dealer.

" Kia is recalling nearly 295,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the engines can stall or catch fire."

"The recall covers certain 2012 and 2013 Sorento SUVs, 2012 through 2015 Forte and Forte Koup cars, and 2011 through 2013 Optima Hybrid cars. Also included are 2014 and 2015 Soul SUVs and 2012 Sportage SUVs."

"Kia will notify owners starting Jan. 27. Dealers will inspect the engines for fuel or oil leaks and replace them if necessary. The company also is developing a knock sensor software update."

Quoted from "Car recall: Kia recalling nearly 295,000 vehicles due to engine fire risk, including select Sorento, Soul SUVs"
Associated Press on USA Today website Dec. 5, 2020
