I know exactly how to help the OP. My daughter has had 5children and the other daughter been pregnant 6 times.

They didn't have this when I was young and pregnant. This stuff will work and the reason I mentioned the pregnancy is because they were having 'issues' as often pregnant women do and their GYN recommended this so it is safe.

MiraLax it is amazing. It might take a day or two for it to work, but it will work. Don't loose hope. Follow the directions.

Then when you do that at different times (you are going to think I'm crazy but trust me this will work). Don't listen to the naysayers. Go to the grocery store and get you some chips (I usually eat "Pringles" original FAT FREE Potato chips. They have Olestra in them. You need the Olestra. It will make you go.

Remember back with that Diet pill that the fDA approved and everyone made fun of it because the ingredient made you have loose b*owels? That was because that ingredient "Olestra" will do that. It is safe (it is in almost all FAT Free products. Anything that says "50% fewer calories, that has Olestra.

When you do get your b*owels straightened out just every few days (don't let it get away from you because it will (the con sti pation) will, just eat some of the chips (it doesn't have to be Pringles, that's what I eat) and drink some of the MiraLax at night every few nights.

The Dr says it is safe to use (better than any of the other things). You won't cramp or anything. You won't even realize it. I guarantee you it works and you will be a happy camper again.

I had to do something because most of the medicine I take caused my mouth to get so dry I now have to take medicine that increases the salava (moisture) in my mouth to increase. If you want to know the name of the prescription I can give it to you.

Even my dentist told his Uncle about the prescription medicine and it has helped him tremendously. People don't know but that will totally make your teeth rotten.

I never had a cavity in my mouth then I went about 1 1/2 years before I got my teeth cleaned. Before that I went every 6 months to the dentist. My dentist got a divorce and it cleaned out his bank account. He closed up shop. I suddenly realized I hadn't been to the dentist and I thought I had receeding gums.

I found a wonderful dentist. Long story short. Almost every tooth in my mouth is rotten. I have had so many root canals I've lost count. I still own my dear dentist $7,000 ! I have to go again tomorrow to have a cap put on a root canal I had done a few weeks ago. (The fun never ends).

Please do not let the dry mouth go on. Let me know if you want the name of the prescription. You know which one of my Drs gave me the prescription? It was the arthritis Dr. she is amazing also. My Drs have taken such good care of me. I have a lot of little weird things wrong with me.

If you want to know the name of the prescription. Put up something like as subject: To Annabelle bla bla (let me know what you want). I don't get on here every day.

If you can believe it, within the past few days I found out I tore my retina (my best friend did the same thing). I've been told it comes with age!

So I might not be doing a lot of reading for a few days. Don't give up on me. I really want to help you as we have to stick together and help each other.

Take care and I understand and am glad you came to all of us.

I was taking a medication for nausea recently and a terrible side affect was extreme constipation. I started taking Milk of Magnesia thinking this would get quick results without cramping, but it's really not working well at all.

What product can you recommend that gives quick results without being overly harsh and giving you terrible discomfort and cramping?

I know this is not a pleasant topic but it's just part of life! And I'm sure many of us suffer from this.

Thanks so much!

Everyday, I make me a smoothie using fresh spinach leaves, kale, cranberries, strawberries, a frozen banana, and plain yogurt. I get my greens and have no issues. I do it mainly to make sure I get my veggies in and it is so good for you, without relying on meds. Good luck.

I'm just miserable not being able to do it!!!

And Miralax and things like Citrcel, etc., - I've tried all of those things before and they are not really very satisfactory for me. But I appreciate the suggestion!

Miralax, It adds water to the bowel . If this is a ongoing problem, I would eat oatmeal with flax and dryed fruit for breakfast with lots of water. Not only will your cholesterol go down, things will move though you better. Miralax like other things will stop working if used ongoing.

I was going to suggest magnesium pills, but if the MOM is not working, doubt they will. Try taking 3 stool softeners every evening with a full glass of water. You try the Walmart Equate brand, the ones that also contain a mild laxative in them.

AngelPuppy, for long term regularity, I sincerely recommend Benefiber. I used to joke that I digested food like a snake, you know, take days to process . I went for a colonoscopy when I was 45 (no problems, just early test because of family history) and I happened to mention to the GI doctor that my family was concerned because I didn't have the same 'constitutional' schedule like them. Anyways - GI guy says he takes Benefiber daily. I have taken Benefiber daily for nearly 7 years now. What I love about this product is that you can add it to almost anything and not taste it. Almost anything means - avoid really cold food or drink, like ice water, ice cream etc. I sprinkle some in my morning coffee. My elderly mom was on much medication and she liked her benefiber in a cup of tee or sprinkled on some food. As long as you drink plenty of fluids during the day, you will have a pleasant experience - no bloating, pains or anything.

If your doctor prescribed the medication for nausea then I would call his office and ask them. I remember when I took medication for nausea due to chemo the name of the laxative was on a paper from the doctor's office but I don't remember what it was.

Drink at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces (160lb = 80 ounces).

Eat TONS of lettuce/salad. Eat 1 of those family packs of lettuce & chow down. Little or no dressing...even straight from the bag. And drink lots of water.

Eat 3 large oranges every night before going to bed. And drink lots of water.

Eat 2-3 cups of brown rice. And drink lots of water.

Oh, and drink lots of water.

Hope you see the common theme here. No Meds. No OTC. No Prescriptions. Let Food be your medicine. Your body can heal w/ the proper food. So easy. So cheap. So logical. Seriously....eat 3 cups of brown rice & just wait for the magic to happen.

ETA: You mentioned being nauseous & here I'm recommending food...if you can choke down MOM & other OTC recommendations, a little orange or cup of rice doesn't seem so bad, yes?
