Since I started using my Solostar pen...the numbers have been high! Used a different blood sugar monitor...high numbers as well, 200 at least!!! Do you think its the insulin?? My diet hasn't changed...I almost think I would be better off not checking..its not worth the worry!

Since the pen has one more dose...I'll see what it says...hoping the new pen will be accurate!

Gary Sheiner has an excellent book "Think like a Pancreas" 2nd edition that will explain and elaborate on what you are dealing with @emmygrace . I did some research and now they're saying the Lantus pens...SHOULD be refrigerated AFTER use...just like the Lantus vials. (I never had a problem w/the vials). I was told they DID NOT need refigeration after they were used, and I think the insulin was breaking down...so as of tonight I will use the refrigerated pen..(we'll see if it makes a difference in my BS in the morning...otherwise I'll request the vials!)
