So for those who have read my previous long post about my surgery to remove the knee replacement hardware on 6/26. I saw the infectious disease specialist yesterday, everything is going well so far. I am still getting the home IV antibiotics, he expects this will continue until 8/7. Still on a walker, off the pumps to prevent blood clots, continue with knee brace, TED stockings. Doctor changed the dressing, my BF saw the incision for the first time and couldn't believe how long it is. Midcalf to about 2 inches above my knee.. This is quite a ordeal, I was feeling a bit down yesterday, BF has been awesome, he does the antibiotic treatments every 8 hrs thru the picc line which requires a syringe of saline, antibiotic, saline again then heparin. Talking to my 4 yo grandson via Facetime is my biggest joy. of the day. I'm hanging in there, this too shall pass, just venting I am truly blessed.
