Sinus Medication

Does anyone have suggestions for a good over the counter sinus medication? I have a constant sinus drip but not an acual sinus infection. Spring allergies aren't helping either. This has nothing to do with the virus thankfully. I'm don't think a dr prescription is necesary but I need something.

Talk to a pharmacist. They will be very helpful. Remember to tell them if you have any other conditions like high blood pressure.

@oak1 I am in the same situation. My doctor recommended Nasacort...the allergy 24 HR version....nasal spray. It works wonders for me. I have spring allergies and have had 2 sinus surgeries prior to using this. I would not be without it. You can buy it at CVS either a single bottle or pack of two.

I take high BP meds, and I use Flonase which keeps down the inflammation and is used with an antihistamine. I take Zertec (actually, I buy the CVS copy. My dr suggested both of these with my BP and they are taken by quite a number of people.

I've had pretty good luck with Mucinex nightshift, it's a liquid, I take it at night before bed. I find liquid meds work better for me.

I get bad sinus headaches and Advil for Sinus works well. It usually takes 2 pills and my head starts to clear, Hope you find something that works.

ALLEGRA - been taking it for years - spring and fall

Does't make you sleepy - stops drips and sneezing

There's Flonase, Allegra, Claritin, and NeilMed sinse rinse.

One of my Drs is called an infectious disease Dr (I have IGG) little or no immunity, I get infusions.

Anyway, I get sinus headaches. He told me to go up to the pharmacy counter and get ADVIL cold and sinus tablets.

The one's they sell at the regular get it yourself counter isn't strong enough to knock out my headaches.

You will have to show your ID and you can only get one box at a time. They are much stronger than the over the counter ones.

You don't need a prescription to get them. I guarantee you they will knock out the sinus headaches.

You can get the regular ones. They won't make you sleepy.

Try a saline nasal rinse. It'll flush out the irritants and gunk.

@oak1 I have been having good results with CVS brand 12-Hour Nasal Decongestant. Non-drowsy for sinuses. Gray box with a 💙.

I take Claritin and Mucinex for relief. Even if my issue develops into sinusitis, the doctor says to continue the OTC meds, then prescribes an antibiotic, gives me a steroid shot, along with Phenergan for my cough.

I take Allegra every day and also use a Neti Pot - especially after being outside.

I use a saline spray 3-4 times a day and I take Alka Seltzer

Cold Plus. They work great together.

Will write down all your suggestions because I think my allergies are getting worse. My preference would be a nighttime liquid.

If I feel like my head is stuffed and I have a mild productive cough, I take Mucinex at bedtime. My allergy symptoms are generally pretty mild. Also take Tylenol,

Same for me. I take it twice a day and have for years on the recommendation of my Dr.
