Humana Pharmacy wasn't delivering on my Zantac any longer so my Dr. switched me over to Pepcid. I was skeptical because I tried Pepcid years ago and didn't feel it did nearly as well as my Zantac.

You might ask your Dr. if it would be ok to skip the Pepcid for a day or two and replace it will Nexium.....then go right back on the Pepcid and see what happens....(just to jump start the Pepcid) a tiny bit. That worked for me but check with your doctor first. I only needed to do that about 2 or 3 days...then right back to the Pepcid. That worked for me! Good luck!

I am in the same situation with my Zantac prescription. Tagament is my next hope for me. Mylanta worked well until my condition progessed. The one thing about Mylanta is that it is not meant to be taken regularly long term. I don't know if that applies in your case or not.

I do eat yougurt and drink mint teas or peppermint cocoa and get some relief during the day. Crackers of any kind are my staple.

Hope one of these help you.

I still take Zantac, my Dr and Pharma told me it is safe..You might try using magnesium. My Dr told me to take it because I was low and it has helped me a great deal. I take 500 mg once per day..Call your Dr and see if it is OK if you are in doubt

My son also tried it and was surprised that it also worked for him

Remember meds can do a number on your stomach sometimes, so we are constantly facing an uphill battle ,if we use them
