I have an autoimmune disorder as well. When it flares I can develop small pimple type erruptions called erythema nodstrum.

They are small, red and fluid filled like a tiny blister. No whitehead like a pimple. I use an OTC cortisone cream and not an acne treatment. They can hurt and are slow to heal, up to two weeks.

I just know my disorder is in a flare when they pop up but thankfully I only get 2-3 at a time.

Before you add anything to your regimen, write down everything you are taking, meds, supplements, etc. and write down all the cosmetics and face products including soaps you are using. Begin assessing your list. 1. Check products to see if they are passed use by dates. 2. Look up products at online databases to see which products are most likely to cause breakouts. The chemical databases rate each products ingredients for this likelihood. 3. Are you taking anything or using anything that can cause hormonal changes? Eating foods high in phytoestrogens? 4. Is there anything new or different among the things you listed?

After doing your assessment, if you find something that is the likely cause, eliminate it for awhile and see if you improve. If you can’t find anything you think is responsible then make an appointment to see a medical professoo am.

I had to do this assessment for myself. Without products I never break out. I found three ingredients in my products that were rated high for causing break outs. I still use them occasionally but whenever I do I get one or two bumps on my face.
