I think this is what I have. Worse in my left knee. I know I have osteoarthris in both knees. I have been doing a lot of high-impact workouts that include jumping, running, etc.. This issue been going on for several months. I think it's due to the impact, so I've stopped/lowered that part. Still hurts to bend my knee completely back. Feels like there is something there empeding it. I think I've flared up both knees and it just need to get the inflammation back down.

I have them behind both knees .They hurt a lot at night when its cold or temperature drops and then the fluid builds up behind my knees . They are painful . I usually just take an aanalgesic which helps. Sometmes the doctors will drain them but they fill up again . They can burst on their own or leak .,In that case you will get a black and blue mark on the top of your foot , Yeah I don't know why that is either. Something about the fluid leakng down into foot area. They can be removed with surgery but Thats another story .They are very common for those with arthritis.

Cathy from ma

My husband had baker's cysts in both knees for several years before he had his knees replaced. The doctor would drain them, but they would come back pretty quickly. He finally had partial replacements for both knees a year ago. The doctor removed the baker's cysts during the replacement surgery. The surgeon mentioned that, though it was possible that one or both of the cysts could return, he was fairly confident that the problem was resolved. He said that, generally speaking, when the underlying cause of the issue is addressed (in my husband's case, knee replacement), the problem goes away. So far (fingers crossed), my husband has not had a recurrence of the cysts.
