The recent news about Zantac and losartan containing a contaminat are leaving many wondering about what contaminant. It is NDMA. It’s considered a possible carcinogen by the EPA and FDA and World Health Organization. It can come from many sources. It is not necessarily coming from China in the Zantac case. In the Valsartan and generic losartans recalls, a Chinese manufacturer, Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceuticals Co Ltd., working for the Pharma companies, was implicated.

It can be found in soil, water, food and air and can be unintentionally produced through some chemical reactions. The chemical was used to produce liquid rocket fuel and some lubricants. It can be a byproduct of the manufacturing of some pesticides, rubber tires and the processing of fish.

Thanks for sharing. I did hear abt both of these the Zantac & other medications like Zantac were from a pharma in India .
