Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but looking for recommendations for good OTC Orthotics. I currently have prescription orthotics I wear in my every day sneakers. Before I got those, the doctor had me try out MonTrail orthotics. I did like them and put them in my gardening shoes after I got the prescription orthotics. At some point both of these are going to wear out and I can't afford the $400 price tag to replace the prescription ones. I was looking at getting more MonTrails, but when I read the reviews it seems they had been bought out by another company and, as is commonly the case when companies are bought out, are no longer as good. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you have a specialty shoe store near you that carries orthotics, go there with the shoes you intend to use them in.

We have Eneslow in NYC. They carry dozens of serious orthotics and guide you in which ones would be best for your needs.

If there's nothing near you, you can email Eneslow for their suggestion.

Vionic here at the Q sells orthotics and they are really nice. JMO but I think the orthotics from the Podiatrist is a rip off, just like over priced durable medical equipment.

I tried quite a few OTC orthotics and none of them worked for me but then I think I have a pretty severe issue. I do use dr. prescribed orthotics and they work better for me than anything else. I won't be happy when mine wear out as they are pretty expensive. If OTC work for you, then that is great. What about the Dr. Scholl ones that are in the kiosk?

First you need to know exactly what you need. High arch? Metatarsal pain?

Then go to a store when they do this all the time, like a running place. They will help. I have had wonderful results.

Vionics are for people that walk or run with most of the weight on the inside edge of the feet. I happen to supinate which means the opposite. I tend to put my weight on the outside of my feet. There are tons of other reasons for orthotics/.
