I have also thought about having an air cleaner installed on our heat pump due to family members with allergies and COPD. If/when I get ready to do this, I will just call the heating and air company we deal with and have one of them come to the house to show me what they usually install. We have dealt with this company for more than 15 years, and besides our last heat pump upgrade, we purchased our generator from them, and also used another line of their business to pave our driveway. I definitely trust this company.

For online searches, I would look at heat pump websites, like Trane, Rheem, and Lennox for information on their electronic air cleaners.

I am thinking about having an Electronic Air Cleaner put on my Electric Heat Pump. My house is pretty large so I will need a big one.

I did have one that was electronic but it put out Ozone smells. I made the company disconnect it after only 3 days.

My late husband said he couldn't smell it but I could.

Any ideas on what website to go to to get good recommendations?

I figure a website that talks about allergies. I asked my allergist and they said they don't like to recommend one company over another.

Any help is appreciated.

At one time Consumer Reports did a narrative on air cleaners, not a review of individual brands. You might try a library and see if you can read a copy of it. They were very critical of the devices overall. One of the criticisms was that they emit ozone.
