Does anyone know what the most abundent type of collagen is present in the tendons. I was thinking of trying the andrew lessman product but they told me it only contains collagen type 1. I think that type 3 is the most abundent in the tendons and not type1.

Thanks

Type II is found in cartilage / tendons. I found that info on wiki. @Mitchell

The different types of collagen all play a role in most parts of the body. You actually need all of them to make things work properly.

Marine collagen contains mostly types I and III. It is more easily absorbed into the bloodstream than type I, making it a superior kind of collagen.

Just because our tendons and cartilage is made mostly of type II doesn't mean consuming that type will be more beneficial for those areas. What is important is consuming what the body can absorb to benefit the most from any supplement. @Mitchell

I switched to a brand from Zammex called Premium Hydrolized Collagen Peptides. I am on my second jar of the stuff. It really works.

I can't vouch for tendons since I don't have those issues but it has done wonders for my nails and after two months my hair is almost a decade younger. I never thought I'd see it this full again.

I do take my scoop in the morning on an empty stomach with some orange juice to dissolve it and then fill the glass with water. Vitamin C is necessary for the collagen to be absorbed by the body.

I taste nothing but my water and OJ. You can use all OJ if you want or some other type of high content Vitamin C juice. I just like it that way.

Highly recommend if you are looking to try something like it. I get mine from Amazon.

The thing about any kind of collagen supp is that when you take them there's no way to direct the collagen supp to any specific area in the body. It just goes where it's needed if it's needed at all to begin with. You can't take 'tendon' collagen and expect it to end up in your tendons. Doesn't work that way.

I have used AL's for years. I used to mix it with water and I never noticed a smell. Lately I mix it in with my morning protein shake. I also add some of his other powdered products - chondroitin, Fruitful Antioxidants and the green one for veggies (can't think of the name right now). I don't taste any of them.

It is so thick I don't notice the taste. Goes down real easy. It has helped my knee so much, I never want to be without.
