I prefer to drink water as nature intended, but my municipal water supply contains too much chemical content. I don't drink or cook with tap water.

I can no longer haul water from the store and I'm not getting a delivery set up.

Not doing whole house either.

So I purchased a zero water pitcher. It has a small well in the top, you put your tap water in there, it filters down to a pitcher. I was skeptical. Is it worth it?

The well in the top for the tap water to go in, now looks like a grungy bathtub that hasn't been cleaned in a month. I've washed the pitcher but I haven't washed the top.

I took a couple of pictures but it really doesn't show up well in the pictures.

There is also some sediment in it.

My former country home was on a well and it was perfect. Perfectly clean, perfect pH. I miss it.

I'm going to keep my pitcher. The filters are pricey but they do last a while.

Right now I'm using a Pur water filter that fits on my kitchen faucet which works well, but I'm only going by taste and research on filters. Maybe that could work for you?

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your post! It seems like the the Zero water pitcher is doing it's job of getting the crud out of the water?

I didn't have my 2nd cup of coffee yet.

What pitcher are you keeping -- the Zero pitcher or another? It sounds like it's the Zero pitcher is the one you can't get clean.

My brother gave us a Zero Water container for Christmas. I think it holds over a gallon of water. And It is still pristine and clean.

I am guessing the that there is dirt around the filter area? Did you take the filter out and then clean the area? Didn't you get a meter so you could test the water? Maybe your filter needs to be replaced?

I had one for years with a water dispenser, zero water filter and container needed to be washed occasionally. then it was fine

when the dispenser died I switched to Brita only because it was easier to find the filters

you should be OK with the water just remember to wash it out

I really need to think of a better way than just buying all those Deer Park bottles. I will not drink my tap water here in my condo because I'm sorry but I can taste it. I had tried a while ago a Brita water pitcher with the filters but if you don't change it in time, need I say more? I've been thinking about those water filters hooked up to your kitchen sink but I don't know. I had the Deer Park delivery to my home but after the first year they became very undependable in their deliveries. I can't leave out the empty bottles in my hi-rise condo's hallway for days on end until they decide to deliver. It's hard to find good delivery people these days it seems.
