Eating healthy fats does not cause diabetes, not every diabetic is fat, and all fat people are not diabetic

Being overweight increases the chance that you will become type 2. But a healthy diet includes healthy oils and protein

About 2/3 of overweight people are not diabetic, and thin people are also diabetic ...you are reading a small piece of information, and deciding it means everyone is diabetic because they are fat or eat meat

Some of my relatives are on this diet. I remember years ago, buying pee sticks to know when you were in the right range. I don't plan to do it, I am at lifetime at Weight Watchers. Are you doing keto? How much have you lost?

I cannot do the keto diet. Have chronic kidney disease and even Lindora would only let me use a very modified diet (which did not work). I never went into ketosis because I could not healthwise.

From my own experiences with physical fitness, this would be/actually is, counterproductive, a mistake.

My fitness levels over many decades would have suffered, along with my energy levels, with a low/no carb intake. For me it is not someone's conjecture or scientific study, it is a fact proven by many laboratory Maximum Physical Fitness Testing, done by myself. All done while on my normal level(high complex carb) intake.

One does not a get to a HIGH physical fitness level without putting in a lot of intensive/strenuous exercising. For myself, without this high Complex Carb Intake, these high levels of Physical Fitness would been impossible to achieve, and which I have presently achieved, even now at my advanced age level.

Weight problem? The only times I have been unhappy with my "scale weight" numbers was when I was recovering from life/death health issues. Those many years greatly reduced my ability to exercise at levels conducive to maintaining any body weight I chose for myself. To, and for me, Complex Carbs were/are my pathway, at all ages, to excellent Physical Fitness levels. These levels translate into "every thing in my life being much easier to do", and even when it involved several tough mental issues encountered on life's path.

hckynut(john)

Anyone with diabetes needs to monitor what they eat carefully. We are not all the same and some of us make more insulin than others

Go the the American Diabetes association website ,and let them steer you in the right direction. Talk to your Dr and ask to be sent to a nutritionist. They will all tell you carbs are not your friend ,and they are in everything ,but protein

Fruits and Vegs are both filled with carbs, some have more than others. Flour and grain products are also filled with carbs ,along with dairy products

So ,if you are hungry ,a bit of protein( meat, fish, eggs, nuts) is your best choice. We have a diabetes thread here ,and if you have questions feel free to ask ,and someone will help with an answer

Your health is your wealth, so don't squander it, by taking advice that can hurt you
