Pain relief

I bought a bottle of roll on stuff to help with pain. It works pretty good . It's is topical so it won't interfere with other meds or upset your stomach

I have used it for muscular pain and my husband, for joint pain, and we both felt relief

It is called biofreeze and we got it at his chiro. I'm not sure if you can get it online , but I would think so.

It is manufactured in the US ,and doesn't test on animals

That was one of the only things my Dad said helped ease his pain. My sister used to order it online for him. Walmart sells it now. I bought some for my DH. I think it came in roll-on, ointment & spray. Not sure if the chiro sells a version that’s stronger or not but you can get it at Walmart.

I have a friend who swears by Biofreeze. I've tried it twice now, and it does nothing for me, sadly.

Menthol USP 4% on Walmart version. Professional version sounds more impressive so maybe it’s stronger?

A friend of mine and her husband have tried BioFreeze

and Blue Stop. They said Blue Stop is the only topical

treatment that has worked for them.

Salonpas gel is the absolute best. I also have the pain patches. The bio freeze you buy at Target or Walmart is not the same as I have bought from my Chiropractor. That’s why I buy salonpas.

Biofreeze has been around for a long time (25 years) and originally was only available through healthcare professionals. A number of years ago they started selling it from some health pharmacies and more recently (in the past year or so), places like Walmart, Target, etc. have sold it.

The original formula is what they are selling. I've used it for years, ever since a massage therapist recommended it.

Biofreeze Professional is a new addition that can only be sold by professionals. It's a slightly stronger formulation. You can check out their website for the full information.

I have tried everything and they all work for a while. Right now I am using CBD oil gel for my knees and it is working out very well. Just like the roll-ons, it has to be really rubbed in. Expensive, but so far it is worth it.

I use a roll on called "Stop Pain" and a spray called "cool n heat" from Walgreens.

I was getting so many awful side-effects from pain meds - I stopped them all except Tylenol. (I'd rather have the pain than the side-effects!)

The roll on stuff is the best. I use one called STOP PAIN I get it auto delivered from Amazon.

If I would have had to take all the Tylenol or other pain meds needed for the pain I was in for a torn shoulder, for months I would have been one sick lady..

These roll on pain things are wonderful. I use it everywhere I have pain.

@cherry thanks for this thread. Due to a liver diagnosis, my doctor tells me no more Advil. I have awful arthritis everywhere plus an unhappy disc in my lower back and sometimes bursitis in one shoulder. I was in the drug store earlier this week and there were so many products, I just walked away.

I will take a 2nd look at the Biofreeze

I took one Aleve last night before bed and actually slept until the alarm went off this morning. That's the first time in a long time I slept all night without my Advil.

We also like Stop Pain the best, over Bio Freeze. both are sold at Walmart. Walmart also has their own brand, very heavy on the menthol. There was a Bio Freeze coupon in the Sunday paper a few weeks ago.

One thing I like about biofreeze, it doesn't stink. I hate the smell of menthol, and would not want to go around smelling of it..It reminds me of vicks, a product I have hated since childhood, when mom used to slather it on me ,at ever turn

I did not see this mentioned in the replies unless I missed it so you might also try Penetrex. I used it when I had Shingles. It helped some. I have also used it around my ankles & on top of my feet that hurt after walking 4+ miles. It worked when I used it on my knees. My knees don't seem to be bothering me like they did since I have been exercising & now walking.

I don't know why they put the jar in that container?

Just a quick note:

Topical applications can and do enter your bloodstream which is why patches work so well. Although what you guys are discussing is formulated differently and the molecules probably aren't penetrating enough to have a significant cumulative effect in the blood but it is getting through your skin which is why you are experiencing relief in your joints.

I just want you to be aware that if someone asks you for your drug history when you are at a medical screening, topical drugs count!

It does @Laura14 but it doesn't enter your stomach, to cause upsets
