Suggestions for CBD Cream

DH called this morning to tell me someone suggested using CBD cream for his arthritic knees. He's a brick mason/builder and has spent a lifetime working on his knees.

He's been to a specialist who said he is not a candidate for knee replacement right now. The meds he took briefly didn't really help any more than Aleve.

I saw a few older topics on CBD oil and, admittedly, I've done no research other than Google CBD cream which returned lots of confusing results.

Any suggestions are appreciated

You have to be very careful and buy from a known source. I get my CBD oil from a local store, and its helping, where as the stuff I bought online was a waste of my money

That's my concern.

So many out there and I doubt most of them will help. Is the oil you get compounded at the store?

I'm hoping someone can recommend a brand they've tried with good results.

Has he tried the CBD oil that you take orally. It releives pain of arthritis and especially good for back pain . It helps you relax and sleep at night also . There are the oils available with no thc [the compound that makes you high] . It also comes in a tincture .Charlottes Web is supposed to be a reliable one. The oil is better , It tastes pretty bad so get a peppermint flavored one . I have tried cbd oil and found it to be helpful for my arthritis. It is legal in all 50 states and can be bought at most health stores , Just get a dependable brand.

Its not cheap.

@Witchy Woman There is a lot to know and it is important to do the research. The efficacy of the CBD is critical....it can be helpful or a waste of money. CBD comes from two different sources...hemp or marijuana. It is not about getting high, it has become a well-researched source of pain relief that is helping the critically ill and those with unacceptable pain without side effects. However, this has created a Green Rush where everyone is out to make a buck to sell CBD and you have be a wise consumer. Start here online: Project CBD...Beginner's Guide. I posted an amazing docuseries that went into every aspect of CBD. it was free but now costs money. Two books you might want to purchase: Gateway to Health and Cannibis Effect by Bonnie Goldstein (both on Amazon). Bonnie Goldstein is a well respected MD (Harvard) who has been in the field for years. Whole plant medical grade CBD is working miracles...she works a lot with children reversing epilepsy and providing pain relief to children suffering with critical disease. (Unfortunately she is no longer taking new patients.) It is important to have a clear understanding of how the delivery methods differ. You want to know your source and you want medical grade if possible. (Research the "entourage effect") It is critical that what you purchase has been tested. Always suggested to start low and go slow as far as dosage is concerned. If you have dispensaries in your state: you can visit and get some knowledge. However, I would arm yourself with your own research so you know the questions to ask. The information is easily available, you just have to put in the time. There is too much to know to be answered in a forum post. I am not offering medical advice, only common sense. I wish your husband the best possible pain relief. Hopefully the stigma of "sitting around and getting high" will dissipate as the population becomes more educated.

Interesting fact: Doctors have been using cannabis to counter the effects of chemotherapy for some time. Medical research couldn't deny the benefits and captured the THC in a pill for chemo patients.

I feel for him as I know his knees are bad at the end of the day.

I use CBD oil for arthritis and anxiety. The effects are very suttle, but definately there. I only use 2 brands. Many oils are not pure and have fillers and are not pure CBD oil. One brand is Kana and the other brand I use is CW, which is Charlottes Web. This company was recently featured on the Today Show. A child was having multiple seizures a day. Nothing helped her. The parents tried the oil and the seizures stopped. So, depending on circumstances, it helps tremendously.

@Witchy Woman I know that phenomenon, it works that way in this household also. If you want a quick fix you might want to try Charlotte's Web or BlueBird Botanicals. I am a strong proponent of knowing about what goes in my family's body especially when healing and health are concerned, but I understand your comment. The very best of health to you and your DH.

I was also going to say Penetrex first to see if it will help. If not I would try the CBD cream.

When I had Shingles I used both. They did help but I was still in pain. I still use the Penetrex & won't be without it.

When I used the CBD Cream I used Lord Jones CBD Cream without THC since it's not legal in our state. It was $50 for a 50 ml little pump type bottle. If it's legal in your state I say go with the THC because he will get more benefits from it. It's suppose to work better with the THC from what I have read.

You could also read about DMSO Nature's Healer by Dr. Morton Walker or at least Google DMSO. It should be on the market for pain but Big Pharma does not want it on the market. Stuff like this makes me angry. People in pain should have these products that work available to them.

Thanks as this is an easy, inexpensive and quick option.

He will have some of the cream tomorrow and can give it a try. If it doesn't work, we'll try something else.

They also have a roll-on which I bought. Figured he could take it with him to work.

Here's hoping he gets some relief. Watching him work outside today, I noticed he was limping quite a bit. Living with pain is no fun!

Still working ont he CBD cream, but this is something I can do now.

Appreciate the suggestion.

@Witchy Woman Did your husband see an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in knees? I'm not a candidate for knee surgery either, but have had cortisone shots in my knees several times. The orthopedic surgeon has given them to me. I think the shots help tremendously. I've asked about the other injections that are available now, and he thinks cortisone shots work much better.

Yes, he has seen a specialist, had the MRI for both knees, and not a candidate for knee surgery at this time.

If nothing we try in the next few days/weeks gives him relief, I'm going to suggest going back and seeing about shots.

They have him a pill that did nothing -- mostly a high powered Aleve type thing -- did less than a regular Aleve. But even those aren't helping much lately.

I think the shots are a great idea.

oh by the way , When you take the cbd oil you are supposed to take sublingually so drop under your tongue and hold there for 90 seconds before swallowing the oil so it will absorb better.

My father uses Charlotte's Web cream for pain in his knees and likes it. He has not yet tried the CW tincture.

My son sustained a brain injury in tackle footbsll and has had constant head pain for 18 months now. He personally did not think the CW tincture helped, but he vapes Koi brand hemp CBD and that helps a lot with the nervous tension he now experiences.

I did order the Penetrex and roll-on since DH seemed most agreeable to that for now. Supposed to give it 7-10 days to work. We shall see.

He agreed that he would try the CBD oil and/or cream if this didn't provide any relief.

I did hear back from the CW website and they gave the breakdown of all the products.

It's unlikely DH would stick with using sublingual oil, but I'll just have to see what, if anything works.

@Witchy Woman Lord Jones where I bought my CBD oil cream now sells a tincture in a dropper bottle. I may have to try it at some point.

Hope your DH finds some pain relief. It's no fun being in pain.

Hi I seen your thread.

i was wondering did you ever get any success with cbd cream.

I have suffered with chronic back pain from and old sports injury. i have done some research into cbd cream helping relieve aches and pains. has anyone ever used isodiol bioactive rapid cream before? does cbd cream actually work?
