A girl who used to attend my spin class now owns a Peleton since she went back to work and can’t attend classes. She loves it and recommends it.

I would buy one if I had a good place to put it.

Other add ons are the shoes and the mat that goes under the bike

Indoor cycling trivia:

Did you know the word Spinning® or Spin® are trademarked words?

Fitness centers, studios, articles, etc can not use those words

unless representing the Spinning® specific brands or machines &

teaching ideology.

I cringe when I hear brands like SoulCycle compared to Spinning®.

Not.even.close.

I ride at the NY Peloton studio live three days a week. I would buy one in a second if I had room for it, the bike is excellent quality and the company very supportive of their customers.

Its actually cheaper in the long run to buy the bike than to ride live in studio. There are a wide variety of classes for all levels and great instructors. I prefer them to Flywheel and Soul Cycle.

The instructors are wonderful and the community is supportive and so many people from all over the country have met through the community and support each other.

YouTube links below.

CycleOps has an extensive YT library of rides.

They are experienced outdoor riders with zone training...and not the

high RPM, weights, bop up/down, dancing style of the

Peloton/SoulCycle type of workout. Those ‘in the club’ type of

workouts can be extremely hard on the knees when you’re

cycling w/out much resistance at a high cadence.

And lifting 3lb weights on a bike? There’s so much room for injury.

I prefer to ‘Keep It Real’. Indoor cycling is such a wonderful,

safe-when-done-correctly sport, it saddens me to wonder

why we have to keep ‘tricking’ stuff up. Sometimes the best,

most effective ride is quiet, just listening to your own breath.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvqgocb2ICFcv7N9XBH9NGVe8XW3-LGP1

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvqgocb2ICFcv7N9XBH9NGVe8XW3-LGP1

Tried one when I went to buy my new True Recumbent. I like comfort for my butt when I am riding, and this thing doesn't do it for me. Cardio fitness comes down to the same things it has always been, heart rate/time and recovery.

You can do it "on the free" or pay thousands of $$$ to do it. I prefer machines, good comfortable/well made and will last with little maintenance. Sure, I am willing to pay more for better equipment, but a good stationary bike is fine, but that price plus a monthly fee to what, compete with others?

My competing days are over, it's just me gaining and maintaining the best levels I can, and for that I have all the equipment I need. If I decide to go that type of bike? It will be a much cheaper version.

hckynut(john)

High RPM...and all that bouncing? Ouch!

And then add teeny weights? Pleeeze, gurl.

Also....there was nothing mentioned about heart rate or

zone training. A lot of metrics, but not the most important one! IMO
