Has anyone tried this? My workout partner has just started this, saying that it is an old wives' tale/cure. I looked online and this seems to be quite popular for easing arthritis and joint pain.

I did try it for a few weeks.

You are supposed to use only golden raisins.

It didn't do anything arthritis wise so I was thinking, just take the gin and drink! See if that helps

Some people say it does help.

Raisins, amoung other health benefits are supposed to reduce acidity in the system (too much can lead to arthritis and other health problems. They are also supposed to "promote bone health."

Gin is made from juniper berries which are (amoungst other benefits), a natural antioxidant.

Well I suppose if you eat enough of them, you won't mind or notice the arthritis pain so much.

Aside from that, I don't buy for a minute that this is an effective treatment.

It's the alcohol content in the gin that kills joint pain. Alcohol is a well-known analgesic. Simple as that. It's not a treatment. It's a painkiller.

I have been using this recipe for a year now and it works. As for the alcohol content, 1 teaspoon a day of the rasins is minimal. I put mine over vanila icecream. It works for my arthritis. Golden rasins only with the gin. I asked my doctor about it and she said there is a reaction between the two that may help.
